This place was great! If you haven't ever tried a pupusa (a corn-like tortilla filled with cheese or meat), this is the place to try one.

The Scene Sometimes those little hole-in-the-wall restaurants turn out to be real food finds. Other times, they are disappointing. Kathy's fits into the latter category. The Food The menu features Mexican dishes as well as Salvadoran specialties, though not everything is available. On the Mexican side, the chile verde burrito is bland and the beans are gray and runny. As for Salvadoran offerings, the pollo encebollado--chicken with sautéed onions ($7.00)--has a fairly flavorful, albeit greasy, sauce, but the chicken is dry. There are several soups and stews on the menu ($5-8) as well as a variety of seafood offerings. Egg dishes include huevos rancheros and eggs with chorizo or machaca ($5.50).
