Aamco Transmissions

This was my second stop on my quest to get my fiance's junker fixed. She was continually having trouble getting her sweet ride out of park, so first thought was to take it to a transmission shop. The first place I stopped out was a family-owned place. Murphy's Law took over and I of course could not demonstrate the problem as soon as I got there. They looked at it for about 3 minutes and told me they couldn't diagnose anything until the problem actually occurred and told me to come back. I immediately began my search for another shop and ended up at AAMCO. Being in the day and age of the Brake Plus ripoffs I was a little hesitant to take my car into a big name store for repair. I couldn't have been more wrong. The repair guy listened to what the problem was, told me what he thought it could be, but said "let's let it sit for a minute and I'll see if I can get it to duplicate the problem." He did, and finally the damn thing got stuck. He was right about the needed part. They didn't have it in stock, but didn't send me home. They sent someone out immediately to go retrieve the part at a local auto parts store. Told me right up front what the cost was and Brandon?? the manager said he could have it thrown in there as soon as they got back. I was in and out in under an hour. Great service and great experience. I will be sending all my friends and family. Thanks for everything! more

I had my vehicle in the AAMCO on S. Lamar, and they performed my 100k mile maintenance on my Honda Accord. The dealership quoted me $1300, and AAMCO did it for $900 and they finished it in the same day. more

After being told that my transmission needed to be replaced, I took it to this AAMCO, and they were 100% professional throughout the diagnostic process. They even took me out to the shop to show me what they were doing. Unfortnately, the transmission did need to be replaced, but I am fully confident in the work provided by the AAMCO on S Lamar. And to top it off, they gave me a nationwide warranty. I will bring my cars here for all repair needs in the future. more
