I have a soft spot in my heart for Hancock - when I was first learning how to play, it was the only course where I didn't feel stressed out about how terrible I was. Yes, the fairways often are neither fair nor a way at all, but the greens are usually in good shape (sometimes better than I've seen at other courses with a much more stellar reputation and price), and play is challenging on 2, 3, and 5. Walk it in autumn twilight with some buddies and a flask, or early on a crisp sunny morning, and it's difficult to have more fun for the price at any other course.
Pros: Peaceful, nice greens, interesting play, Susan B. Anthony dollars in change from the pro shop
Cons: Rocky/ hard fairways, spotty cart paths, not terribly picture-esque
