Malcolm seemed to understand exactly what I was looking for, and verified it with numerous drawings of my descriptions all along the way. Other jewelers were either not capable or not willing to sketch up ideas as they were being discussed, but Malcolm's artwork made a huge difference in making me feel comfortable that the finished product would be exactly what I had in mind. Malcolm takes great pride in his work and it shows in my fiancee's engagement ring, as well as in his willingness to go above and beyond what any other jeweler would do.
One uncompromising stipulation I had was that the diamond not only be of a particular overall quality, but also be completely conflict free. Malcolm, unlike other jewelers I worked with, did not hesitate to make this a priority. I was extremely impressed when I had finally settled on a platinum setting that included two small ""surprise"" diamonds, and Malcolm managed to not only find a beautiful conflict-free Canadian main diamond, but also two small matching conflict-free Canadian surprise stones as well, complete with certificates! I'm confident that any other jeweler would not have gone to the extent that Malcolm did to ensure that I had both a beautiful ring and that every possible detail was completely conflict free.
