You Won't Be Disapointed 6/27/2008

This is the best restaraunt i have eaten at ever. The prices are not as bad as some places ive ate at that the food was nowhere as good as bellagio's. I HIGHLY recommend to everyone no matter te occasion Pros: The outside dining Cons: The distance from my house lol more

Great food 5/20/2008

Oddly we've never eaten in house, we always get take out. So I can't tell you about the service although the bartender is always cool. Despite the Best of on city search - you'll be hard pressed to find a better Italian place in Austin. The food is excellent. Lasagna that is fantastic and the pizzas are a tastey treat too. We've yet to be disappointed with any of the food we've had from Bellagio's. Be prepared that the price is not cheap, it is a bit expensive here. The food is great but the price do exceed that a bit. Don't be fooled by people who judge a place by the price tag though, I'm judging it on the excellent food not on someone else's cheapness. You won't be disappointed. more

Good and Fun 3/25/2008

Excellent food. Great shell fish risotto. It was a special and it was out of this world. We had calamari, osso bucco, and some ravioli. Everything was tasty. The service was nice. Attentive and happy. Pros: food, service more

not worth the price tag 5/14/2007

I better be very convinced I'm getting what I pay for at $25 a plate. Bellagio didn't rise to the occasion. My shrimp & pasta was bland, as was my husband's beef. Our waiter got one wine order and ran away without getting the rest- not what I would expect when I'm paying 100+ per couple. On a good note, the calamari is outstanding and the dessert I had gave Chez Zee's best a run for the money. Back to the bad: interior is pretentious and tacky. Much, much better Italian food is to be had, even in Austin, at this price point and much lower ones. Pros: Great desserts and calamari Cons: Dinners, price tag more

exceptional guest interaction 4/22/2007

very good Pesto Tagliatelli, professional waitstaff with great knowledge of the menu. they were paying close enough attention to my table to move me inside minutes before it started pouring rain and make sure we were seated in an area of the restaurant that made us feel comfortable. Pros: food, waitstaff, ambience more

Now That's Italian 2/13/2007

This is the first review I have written on Citysearch because I had to comment on my experience at Bellagio. I have been their a number of times with family and co-workers. Every experience I have at Bellagio is delightful. The Food is always great, the staff attentive, and I always feel welcome. If you are a fan of "real" Italian food, I reccomend Bellagio before any. Pros: Great Food, Service. more

I don't know how you could think this was good food 2/11/2007

We went here for my grown daughter's birthday. There were 8 of us. The good: we were seated immediately and the place was empty all night so we could really enjoy our party as well as good service. BUT, No one at the table enjoyed their food. One member of the party is a vegetarian and his dish wasn't even edible. I really love all kinds of italian food and can't for the life of me understand what other reviewers ate that they would pay for again. Pros: seated promptly, good service Cons: aweful food more

Best Italian Food ...Everything is fresh and Pasta made in house....how could you go wrong? 10/4/2006

I have to tell you that I have been going to Bellagio's since they opened. My wife and I have spent many nights in eating out and Bellagio hands down is one of the best places to dine. The owner Steve Loiacono has some of the best veal dishes that I have ever tasted. If you are looking for great apps. then you need to try their calamari and their mussels. I think as many times that my wife and I have been there, we have had all their dishes. There is not one thing on that menu that I would not recommend. I have taken our family from back east there many times and will continue to go...Great job Steve! more

The absolute best Italian served anywhere in Austin. 9/11/2006

My wife and I have been regulars at Bellagio's since it first opened. Why? Because we know that each and everytime we go in, we will be warmly greeted and enjoy an excellent meal served by an experienced, professional wait staff. We travel a great deal and spend time each year in Italy and have yet to find a restaurant there any better than Bellagio's. Whether you like the marvelous Veal dishes served with homemade pasta or the rolled chicken breast, you simply owe it to yourselves to experience an evening either inside or outside on the wonderful terrace; Great wines--Great Food--Nice people. more

Still my favorite after 6 years!! 9/9/2006

I've had the pleasure of dining at Bellagio for 6 years now. I love this restaurant! It is a lovely family run Italian bistro, where the servers, bartender, and owners take fantastic care of you. The food is wonderful!! The nightly seafood special is always fresh and melts in your mouth. The orchids the chef uses for presentation is such a nice touch. The friendly and attentive service, delicious food, and perfect dirty martini will keep me going back time and time again! Pros: Food, attentive service more

Honor reservations -- best Italian food in Austin 9/8/2006

Great atmosphere! Wondeful selection of entrees. Great and attentive servers/staff/owners! One of the few places in Austin to really dine -- food is not thrown in front of you as fast as you can eat it! The quality and the quantity are very reasonably priced. Good to accommodate intimate dining or large groups! Certainly my favorite Italian restaurant in Austin!! Pros: Reservations available Cons: NOTHING!!! more

Average at best 8/26/2006

Last night my wife and I went to Bellagio, although a little far from where we live, we couldn't resist given all of the great reviews. Unfortunately it didn't live up to our expectations. The atmosphere was cozy, but a little too warm for me. I had sweat dripping off of my forehead all night but, back to the food. The appetizers and salads were very good, but in my opinion it's pretty hard to mess those up. My wife had the bistecca tuscany, which was bland at best. It tasted like something I could have made at home with some bottled ragu. I had a salmon special which was ok, but not mind blowing. The wine list seemed fine, so no disappointments there. It's definitely going to be hard for you not to try Bellagio given the number of great reviews, but given the cost, in the end, don't say I didn't warn you. It's very unlikely we'll ever head out there again, unless it's at the request of someone else. Food 7 Service 8.5 Air conditioning 4 Cost 4 (direct result of the quality of the meal) EM more

Dining Experiece - 5 Stars 12/24/2005

Amazing is the first word that comes to mind starting at the front door with an attractive host greeting us as we walked in. We arrived during the rush hour on Christmas Eve when you might expect the service and food at the lowest point due to the Holiday, etc. However, we were greatly surprised. The ambience was excellent. The wait staff was some of the best trained we have ever experienced in any upscale resturant. The wine was excellent and the food was amazing, starting with salad, and the seafood was some of the best we ever had followed by an incredible desert tray. We would compare this to any top 4-star resturant in Houston, San Fransico, or Cancun. The price is high and for good reason. Also, the owner (Steven Loiacono) is the chef so that may explain so of the success. We will be back! Pros: Service, Food , Deserts more

This will become a regular stop for us. The food and service are great. This was a great find. The best calamari and ravioli I have ever tasted. The veal osobucco was a special treat! more

Delightful 5/13/2004

Awesome food, great presentation, service is superb, and oh those cocktails, they make the best in Austin. A completely enjoyable experience - Highly recommend Bellagio to anyone looking for great food and value. Bravo! Pros: Food, Service, Bar more

Find out for yourself 7/22/2003

I have taken my clients to Bellagio many times and I have never been dissapointed once. I doubt my client would call me the next morning to complain about flatulance. I think Leahs review is trying to pump up Siena. I would reccomend going to Bellagio to find out for yourself it is the best Italian food in Austin w/ the best service. Pros: Excellent Food, Excellent service, Great Atmosphere more

Outstanding Evening... 7/2/2003

My spouse and I had one of the best dining experiences in our 25 years of marriage. Our dinner at Bellagio's was by far the best dinner we've had in Austin. From the bar to the dinner to dessert and wine...it was the best. Compliments to the owner and staff...thank you for an outstanding evening!! Pros: Wine list, Service, Seafood entrees more

Mmm Mmm Good 6/29/2003

We were impressed. Everyone was so friendly. The food is good. A wine list with a nice variety. We have added this to our personal favorite list. They make you feel special. Pros: food, service, wine more

the best italian food in texas 6/27/2003

My wife and I went to bellagio last night on a recomendation of a friend. We have been to all the other italian restaurants in town. And bellagio is by far the best we have had yet! Our waiter was great ,he made us feel special. We started with a bottle of Amarone-tommasi and ravioli appetizer. It's apparent that the ravioli was handmade like our waiter had said. For our second course my wife had the caesar salad and I had the casa which is bellagio's house salad. And for our entree's I had the duck, it was the best I've ever had. My wife had the fish special and it was cooked to perfection. Cons: none more

  • In Short
Bellagio has a refined, classic feel and encourages an unrushed, quiet dinner. An antique walnut bar offers a peaceful spot to decompress with an aperitif. The spacious dining room creates understated elegance with scored concrete floors, taupe walls with cream molding, gilded mirrors, paintings and sculpture. Baked risotto is prepared in a small dish lined with paper-thin slices of eggplant. For dessert, the pignoli torte consists of chopped pine nuts mixed into a shortbread-like torte.
