Best sesame chicken we have eaten. It's like candy. The crab rangoons are wonderfully crisp, also. Their food is reasonably priced. Pros: tasty with excellent service Cons: no fountain drinks more

One of Our Favorites 5/3/2009

We've eaten here for years. I love this place. Sesame chicken and hot and sour soup are our favorites! Very nice stafff - great for takeout! Quick and yummy! Pros: Good Soup. Good Service Cons: Decor more

Best Asian Food In North Austin 12/24/2008

I love their soup. I can never decided between, but hot and sour is my favorite. Their beef sticks are to die for. I love their food. It's sooo good. I go there all the time with my boyfriend. It's our first choice for a date night. The atmosphere is quiet and calm. Some asian music sets the mood. We never have any issues with our order (despite my boyfriend changing about 50 million things on his). My only issue may be that sometimes we get a waiter that really doesn't speak English very well. This can be frustrating, but it's not a huge deal. Pros: Seating, Service/Staff, Food, Appetizers!!, Cons: Non-English Staff more

Not a good place to eat. 9/29/2008

This restaurant is very close to our house so of course we had to eat here one afternoon. The restaurant only had 2 other tables seated so it was a very quiet and boring atmosphere. The interior really does look like this place has not redecorated since the late '80's so it was kinda of cute. Unfortunatly the food was very bland and really unremarkable, my husband ordered some pork dish and I ordered a chicken dish but somehow both dishes tasted the same. The hot and sour soup had a different flavor, not good different maybe old different...Nevertheless we hope never to eat Chinese food this bad again. Pros: clean silverware Cons: iffy food more

Lost In Translation 7/12/2008

If you're looking for pretty decent take-out food this is your place; as far as a sit down restaurant, I wouldn't recommend it. The stressed waiter was almost unable to understand what we were trying to order and the very friendly manager was unable to help us correct our very incorrect bill without trying 3 times. The food is pretty good, there wasn't much chicken on each dish, but flavor was good. Prices were very reasonable. It could have just been an off night for the staff as they seemed to be shorthanded, but overall the dining experience was more stressful than enjoyable and I probably will not be returning. Pros: prices, taste, manager Cons: small portions, wait staff, ambience, poor communication more

Consistent and reliable 7/11/2008

Great food, service, location & prices. Have been eating at this family-owned local business for 21 years. I'll take Nan King over any high priced or chain restuarant anytime! Pros: Fawn, food, family, consistency. Cons: Closed from 2:30-5 weekdays (when I usually eat). more

Best in Northwest Austin! 5/28/2008

I have eaten Chinese food in San Francisco, Chinatown in New York and many places in between and the food and customer service is as good as you will get anywhere. Try the chefs special beef or chicken with cashews, everything I've had is both good and made by hand. This is a local family owned and staffed business. Pros: Great food and service Cons: Its not a free standing restaurant more

Best egg drop soup anywhere! 3/3/2008

My whole family and I absolutely love this place! My mom started eating here when she was pregnant with me and we had my graduation dinner here. Wonderful food, great service, sweetest people and they treat you like friends here! more

Fake Chinese food 2/28/2008

If you are an American who likes the typical Chinese food like sesame chicken, you might like this place. The dishes here are fake, specially catered toward the mainstream Americans. If you want actual tasty Chinese food, go to Dinho. Pros: cheap food Cons: average tasting and frankly, nott worth it more

Pew-King 1/19/2008

This is one of the worst places I have ever eaten. The chinese food was so bad my wife and I call it Pew-King because that's what we were doing after our meal. We tried it cause it was in the entertainement book and 2 min from our house. What a mistake. Try China Tea House in the same shopping center for a real meal. Costs a little more, but money well spent. Pros: Price Cons: Quality/Taste more

Best in town 5/20/2007

This is our favorite restaurant besides being Chinese. They have the best wait staff in the city and we love the family feeling always abundant while there. The prices are the best in town and the portions are very generous. Never leave not full or satisfied. Usually have to take some home in a to go box. Pros: Portions, price, quality and service Cons: perhaps some redecorating more

Great Twice Cooked Pork 10/3/2005

Because we had a coupon, we went to this restaurant without really knowing anything beforehand. I ordered a mixed seafood dish and my friend Skatarina ordered twice cooked pork. I thought my dish was too bland, even after adding soy sauce. However, the twice cooked port was excellent and the most unusual version of that dish I have ever tried. The eggrolls are also very good. They must have a loyal following since we met a couple who said they had been going there for twenty years as we were leaving. Pros: parking, friendly Cons: complicated coupon, tables too close more
