I have been a patient of Dr. Elkin"s for several years. Even when I have changed insurance policies and he was no longer a covered provider, he has managed to continue to treat me. I have a chronic illness and have had for over 20 years. Before that time, depression was a word that I didn't fully understand. I got quite familiar with it. Before finding Dr. Elkin, I seemed to be on the "musical chairs" psychiatrist plan. Every year or two, I had to change Drs. Pre- Dr. E, I was on a total of 4 psych RXs. Over the years, that has decreased to two.
Around a year ago, I suddenly was diagnosed with cancer. Another setback, but Dr. E has helped immensely. No RX changes or additions, simply talking through my problems. currently is remission.
Dr. E usually closes each session by asking whether we have covered everything the I have needed to cover. I almost always say yes, but if not. I bring it up.
