I don't think I've ever had to use either of those words before today, but sadly they are the only ones that seem to suit. I'm sorry to say the salsa was the highlight of my meal....

Trix is great!!! 1/27/2011

We usually have Margaritas and enchilada dip in the bar area because Trix the bartender is so fun. He always makes us feel welcome and the Margaritas are the best! The dining room has been remodled and is very nice and clean. I love their chili relleno, it is soooo good. more

Don't waste your money 10/18/2009

Food was horrible. Chimichanga dripping w/ grease. Margaritas were $8 and a little bigger than a shot glass. Pros: none Cons: the food more

Service was good 10/6/2009

But the food was OK. Nothing memorable. I heard the margaritas were GREAT, gotta try one. more

a little disappointed 3/19/2009

$8 plus for a small plate of chile con carne enchiladas without tortillas, a very small amount of chile con carne, requested tortillas to find out they are not freshly made. iced tea was very weak. Pros: comfortable atmosphere Cons: high price food and not that impressive more

Not what it used to be. 1/7/2009

Their prices have went up, along with the attitudes and quality. The salsa was way to hot, food not so great and prices too high. Pros: parking is good Cons: not worth going out of your way for more

food parts of ro@ch in food. spoke to manager, horrible manners. gross food. would not recommend ever. more

Bad Food 3/19/2008

Had lunch there not too long ago. I ordered the cheese enchiladas and the meal was not half bad. The aftermath and carnage over the next 48 hours was. I must have gotten bad/spoiled food and I have never been sicker in my life. Prior to this meal I had nothing else that day and I am positive it was their food that was the source of my discontent. I will spare everyone the details, just use your imagination and stay away! Pros: parking Cons: bad food more

AWESOME!!!!! 11/11/2007

I just hate to see the bad reviews about this place! I go there all the time since we discovered it. The margaritas are fabulous and so is the food. They seem to be understaffed but the courtesy of the staff they do have and the quality of the food makes up for it. The second time we went, I thought, "There's no way the margs could be as good as they were last time!" But, they were!!! And so was the food. We have been there numerous times since and it is just as good as it was the first time we went. They've just started delivering, too. BONUS!!! Welp, off to place a delivery order! ENJOY! more

Uninspired & UNDERwhelmed 9/13/2007

I don't think I've ever had to use either of those words before today, but sadly they are the only ones that seem to suit. I'm sorry to say the salsa was the highlight of my meal. Queso was overdone and starting to separate. Chili Rellano was dull & boring, I'd be surprised to find anything more than salt was used as a spice, if even that. It wasn't that it was bad food, it just wasn't good food. I just moved to Austin from Dallas and I know Austin can do better than this. So far, two of the three non-major chain, non-fast food, have been a disappointment. Pros: The Salsla? Cons: Everything else! more

Worst customer service and food!!!!! 9/7/2006

I went there one night and some one had put $135.00!!! of food and drinks on my tab that was not mine, i was by myself!!!!....the "manager" refused to take it off and i had to pay it...a few weeks later i was told i was not allowed back there because of the way i "voiced my opinion" when i got the bill. The food there sux anyways...tasted like TV dinners and the service sux!!!! Pros: none Cons: the manager dont care...they just want ur money no matter if they put other people on ur bill. more

Really good stuff! 5/27/2006

I love it here. The food is delicious, the portions are huge, the staff is friendly, the atmosphere is laidback and comfortable. Try the enchilada dip-- you will not be disappointed! Pros: great food, friendly people, huge portions more

why the change? 11/7/2004

I used to frequent the Jollyville location but the last time I went there were some changes and not for the best. I judge a Mexican restaurant by the salsa and margaritas. While the salsa was still good the margaritas tasted like a chalky sweet tart. Very sweet and definitely light on the tequila. The prices also went up. I'm glad it was happy hour because I would have been very upset to pay almost $7 for four greasy mini egg rolls. What happened??? Please bring the old Antonio's back!! Pros: salsa/chips Cons: , new high prices, parking lot more

Editorial

  • In Short
This traditionally decorated restaurant features a separate bar with a large-screen TV usually tuned to sporting events. Fridays and Saturdays feature live music to accompany margarita sipping and chips and salsa munching. Antonio's pechugas de pollo come in three varieties, but the favorite seems to be breaded and fried chicken breasts stuffed with Monterey Jack cheese, bacon and mushrooms that are topped with chili con queso on a bed of rice with beans.
