best cheese roll

Worst

I ordered food to go last night. The food is usually very good, but last night they got it very very wrong. The chicken curry was simply inedible. It was so so hot we could not...

Good thing they let the owners vote repeatedly or Houston residents have lost their taste buds. Bland...bland...bland... more

Delicious food! Great atmosphere...and really friendly staff 3/3/2010

great chicken panang 12/31/2009

we went to this restaurant for the first time tonight, they had tons of people coming in and out so i knew it was a popular place. Pros: extremely friendly waiter Cons: pudh thai kinda bland more

You can't get Thai this good anywhere else! 8/26/2009

I came to Thai Pepper a couple of years back with a boyfriend at the time, and since then it's been a constant in my life (the boyfriend I could do without-tehe). I promise you won't be able to find the same cheese rolls, drunken noodles, or homemade coconut ice cream anywhere else in Houston. Go there, and since I'm salivating as I type, I think I'm about to make another trip. Pros: Mouthwatering food and desserts, attentive waiters more

A little disappointed 7/21/2009

My girlfriend and I really wanted thai that wasn't a chain so I researched here on Citysearch and picked Thai Pepper to try since all the reviews were so good. Both of us were a bit disappointed. My basil chicken sauce was very soupy. Her pad thai was pretty good but my husband wasn't impressed with the order I brought him home. We also asked the waiter to split our check and he told us he would do it only because he wasn't busy. I have never understood restaurants that don't do this when so many people go out to dinner as friends... especially in Houston! I probably won't be returning to this place. Pros: Good pad thai Cons: Parking more

A true connoisseur gives THUMBS UP! 1/22/2009

I am quite picky when it comes to restaurant fare because cooking is something I truly enjoy... But of course, I also love to go out to eat! Thai Pepper is one of my top choices, and certainly the best Pros: everything about Thai Pepper is a pro more

Best Thai in Houston area! 1/22/2009

I have always been interested in different types of food but ever since I discovered this restaurant, thai food has become my favorite! Thai Pepper has never let me down in the slightest. I love introducing this restaurant to other people because they are always so impressed. It is our tradition now to always come here on my birthday (along with many other days of the year!). The atmosphere is sophisticated yet relaxed, the waitstaff is kind and patient, and the food is hot and delicious. That it what you want when you go out to eat! This is the best thai restaurant in town hands down and I just can't say enough about it. I honestly get cravings for it. There are so many reasons why you need to try this restaurant- I promise you won't be sorry! Pros: great food and waitstaff! more

Amazing ppl ie: Efrain, Rosalino, Poki!! 8/3/2008

The CHEESE ROLLS are just to die for seriously cant get enough of them the service is exceptionally great no complaints! Pros: customer service definately more

They can get it very wrong! 7/9/2008

I ordered food to go last night. The food is usually very good, but last night they got it very very wrong. The chicken curry was simply inedible. It was so so hot we could not eat it. Called the restaurant today to tell them and I was told ""There is nothing I can do. You should have called yesterday evening and taken the food back and we would have re-cooked it for you"". Not good enough. I was meerly calling to say we were disappointed. I just found the attitude on the phone today in bad taste. Pros: Usually good food. Cons: Parking can be a problem more

We love Poki 5/3/2008

Their food is great, I have tried alot of different Thai places and it doesn't compare to Thai Pepper. Also Poki the server is amazing, he knows what my cousins and I want with out saying anything. He pays attention to little details and that's what keeps us coming back again and again. Pros: Food and Poki Cons: parking, however there is some across the street. more

best home made ice cream 12/30/2007

Visiting from Austin for the weekend and always on the look for independently owned, local joints. The Thai Pepper... ""definitely made us hot""! The lime beef salad was tasty and the coconut ice cream and fried bananas were a complimentary way to end a HOT meal. The wait staff were courteous and generous. Just the right amount of attention. Will definitely return on our next visit. Pros: wait staff, coconut ice cream Cons: parking more

Delicious! 11/8/2007

This restaurant will amaze you from the time you step through the door and you will leave feeling very satisfied. The food is authentic and delicious and we always have a good time. We go several times a month . Anytime we have friends or family in from out of town we say, ""We have to take you to Thai Pepper!"" and they are always impressed. We have tried a lot of restaurants and have very few favorites- This is one the favorites! Enjoy! more

Prepare to be impressed! 11/8/2007

I rarely bother to write reviews but Thai Pepper is so good that it is well worth the effort! It is one of our absolute favorite restaurants and the ONLY Thai restaurant we will go to now because the other thai restaurants in Houston can't hold a candle to this cuisine. I crave several different unique meals on the menu and always have a hard time deciding because they are all so tasty. You will be impressed by the well-mannered waitstaff as well. I can truly say that this restaurant is perfect for any occassion- a date (it's very romantic and cozy), a celebration or if you just feel like a nice relaxing dinner. If you desire exquisite fare, extraordinary service and an exceptional experience, go straight to Thai Pepper. Five stars! Pros: great food, great service, great atmosphere more

My choice thai place in the area 10/30/2007

I'm not a Thai expert by any means, but we really enjoy this place. My girlfriend and I tried it on a whim and have gone back a number of times now. The outside is not ""fancy"", but inside is nice and pretty romantic. She likes the pad thai and I like the drunken noodles...It's one of those places I have cravings for! Pros: Good food, friendly staff, and nice ambience Cons: tight on parking more

incredible curry, friendly service!! 10/21/2007

We love the curry chicken, Thai tea and the mango with sticky rice is a must! One of our favorite places for Sunday night take-out. Pros: Great curry! more

great thai food 3/17/2007

I totally don't agree with the earlier negative review--sounds like someone needs to go to anger management. And by the way, you actually don't put milk in thai tea or coffee, you DO use condensed milk. So if the waiter looked confused, he was probably trying to be polite about his customer's ignorance. Pros: curries Cons: parking more

Best Thai Food Inside the Loop 6/2/2006

This dimly lit spot has become a favorite of mine. I have never had a bad experience when eating here and the waitstaff actually knows me so well all I have to do is sit down and they will automatically bring me a side of peanut sauce- before I've even ordered. The food is amazing- the prices are completely reasonable (lunch specials as low as 6.95!) and the ambience is relaxing as well as romantic. I urge you to give Thai Pepper a chance because once you try it- you'll never go anywhere else. Pros: cheap thai, great ambience, friendly staff Cons: parking more

Great food, inexpensive 2/25/2006

Thai Pepper is quite good, although it is important that you know what you like and what you do not like. Their menu items are either hit or miss, which has been my personal experience. Service is very good although one of the waitresses did not understand what I wanted because she could not speak English, which is fine, but it hindered the time in which I was able to receive what I wanted. Pros: Food, Service, Inexpensive Cons: Parking, Consistency more

Delicious Food, Romantic 11/5/2005

This is a very romantic spot. Small, dimly lit, the staff is very friendly! Our waiter even gave me a little flattery. i told him , is your house Thai Beer a very strong beer? He replied ""Yes. It is a strong beer, for strong man like you"" hahahah! The food was very spicy, and DELICIOUS. It is available in mild, medium & HOT. And the hot is definitely hot. I reccomend this place to anyone. Delicious! My girlfriend loved it as well. We will DEFINITELY be going back. Pros: romantic, delicious Cons: parking more
