At first discussion with Jean Smith she let me know there was an 8 hour minimum for services. I asked her what her going rate was, she said it was 110 an hour. I asked her if she had a military discount, she said I could pay her 95 an hour. Then she added the ""materials/taxes"" fees, and said it would be a flat $1000. Cash only accepted.
When I questioned her about the amount of materials I would require, she simply stated that ""her boss"" wouldn't go less than $1000"".
I agreed to pay this amount only. I was expected to pay up-front as well, and obliged.
The movers themselves did a WONDERFUL Job, However, they forgot 2 boxes, had to come back, then got stuck in traffic for an hour. Jean called and informed me that I would be charged an additional hour ""$95"" I disputed the cost due to the circumstance and she began to scream at me, then hung up on me. She called me back, I expected an apology, instead I got screamed at again, told to pay her driver, and that she would like to speak to her driver immediately. I informed her that I was at McDonalds getting them something to drink.
She hung up on me again.
I went back to speak with the movers at my storage unit, explained to them the situation, they agreed that it was of no fault of my own that they got stuck in traffic, came back to get the boxes they left, then got stuck in traffic again, making them an hour behind schedule.
Then they informed me that they only get paid $8 an hour. They also informed me that she screams at them like that all of the time, and they want to go in to business for themselves. The movers told Jean that they did not agree with the charge and would not collect from me. Jean yelled at them, told them that she was docking them an hour of pay each. They also informed me that she is their employer and the owner of the business, meaning there was no ""boss"" to refer to, other than herself.
Later, she blows up my cell phone with text messages. She tells me that she is going to fire the movers. ""We will be billing you for additional hour or goes to collections guys are fired for not collecting they know better we did a top notch job for you what a shame that you should act this way""
She also left 2 hateful voice messages. I would like to add that she accepted a $400 sleeper sofa from me (at no charge).
Once I am informed of the business the Moving employees plan on opening for themselves, I will gladly post their information in addendum to this rating.
Pros: Wonderful Moving Staff
Cons: Owner and Management do not conduct good business
