I went to this office to fill out an application from a Houston Chronicle ad they placed for a driver position on Mon, Jan 19, 2009. I went and filled out the application and was told to call back on that following Thurs at the latest. I was told that morning that they had sent out my application but had yet to hear anything back but to get with them Fri. I waited until early Mon pm. When I called, I spoke with Lane who told me she was alone and would call back. When I received no call back in 2 hrs, I called again. She then pulled my application and said that I had given a bad phone number for my former employer. I told her to try another number. I hung up and checked and the original wasnt wrong at all but right. I called back and she claimed the 2nd number I gave her was the right number, but I corrected her and told her no it wasnt. She had yet to do any of the processing of my application in a week's time. I told her it was very frustrating and she told me I didnt have to work for them then. I told her that she should understand my frustration when everything she had told me thus far was incorrect and it showed a lack of competence in my circumstance. She then told me she didnt mind insults. I told her I wasnt trying to insult her, but tell her how frustrated I was at their poor handling of my application. She said that she hopes I had filled out applications elsewhere. I told her that was besides the point. She was very dismissive and seemed very apathetic about how their office had handled my application. I feel that they use really good ads that claim to have great schedules to lure drivers in, but dont have those positions available. A very poor run organization. When I asked if she had a supervisor, she said she did not. Another person in the ofc had originally told me they had a regional ofc downtown. Lane claimed they didnt. She led me to believe she was the first and last person available to speak to and if her service wasnt satisfactory, then go away.
Cons: Indifference to their applicants. Incompetence in handling applications
