Theresa may be good at cutting curly hair, but she never was able to achieve a simple cut I showed her I wanted, straight hair, with bangs. As a matter of fact, I had to trim my own bangs when I got home and cut some more to get it to my liking, somewhat, but I think after 3 months, it only looked like the cut once, she fried the crap out of my hair, if it's smoking when a flat iron is used, which it was, it is so damaging to your hair. I even called her on it, it completely fried my hair. 3 months ago there were only 7 reviews, how it climbed to 50 is most likely someone is trying to make themselves look good. Yes gossipy it was also, and took way longer then expected due to the gossip. more

i used to go to visible changes for a very long time and i was very tired of the way that they work, so i decided to look for an other place to get my hair cuts, i found Theresa online and i am never going back to visible changes again, she is very professional and friendly i am happy i found her. more

Theresa gives an excellent haircut for men. My hair is thick and curly and can be very difficult to manage. The cut I got at Hair Studio One was low maintenance and looked very professional for weeks. I'll definitely be back! more

I just got my hair done by Theresa Close. I researched quite extensively before choosing her, and I must say I'm sooooo glad I decided on her. I went to her to fix a bad ""boo-boo"" done by another stylist (if you can call her that). When I walked in I looked ridiculous. The cut and color were embarrassing. When I got home after the first cut and color, my husband told me maybe I should wear a ball cap. By the way, he's usually very complimentary. When I got home after Theresa got through with me, he said ""there's a reason Theresa gets such good reviews and so many people go to her"". I didn't really think there was much that could be done for me without just cutting the hair short and waiting a year or so for it to grow out, but she took a minimum of length off and redid the highlights and it looks great and the highlights are so natural and soft looking. Thanks Theresa for saving my hair! more

So I just got my hair done by Teresa Close and it was such a fabulous experience. Having very unique curly hair, I've never had a proper haircut and I never knew what to do with myself!! I have crazy curls and hardcore frizz that I spent so many years battling with until I finally gave up. THANKFULLY one, fed up day I found all these shining reviews about Teresa's magical curl skills and made an appointment ASAP and I've been a new person since. This is literally one of the first times I've seen what my real, natural curl looks like and it's PHENOMENAL!! PLEASE, if you have curls, embrace them with the help of Teresa. She has a great studio and its so comfortable and relaxed. She does such a thorough, perfect job that by the first five minutes you already know you're in good hands. I am so happy with my experience, and the only thing I'm regretful of is that I hadn't found her earlier!! Her prices are great, her products wonderful, her personality better than both combined. Do not miss out on her, I promise you won't regret it! If you feel the drive is too out there, believe me, ITS SO WORTH IT!! I am definitely going to become a regular now. If you haven't been to Hair Studio One, run to Mauna, as your beautiful look depends on it. I've tried several other stylist in the area, who couldn't seem to cut or properly color my curly hair. Mauna is also resonably priced, as well as up on the latest trends. What are you waiting for, give Mauna a try and you will be hooked:) more

I was looking at the website of the salon that I used to go. As I called to make an appointment, I was told the stylist who used to cut my hair, did not work there anymore. I was disappointed. But then I found another website, Hair studio one and saw the positive reviews for Teresa Close and decided to give a try. I got the appointment for the same day and I am very very pleased with my hair cut. My hair is very thick,coarse and curly.In the past several years I had not been happy with the way the stylists cut my hair.But Teresa asked for my opinion in cutting the hair and gave her suggestions. I asked her to give a very good hair cut that required very little maintenance with some layers. She gave me a cut that perfectly suited me and my type of hair. During the hair cut ,she stopped and showed many times, as how my hair looked with a mirror. She knew how to follow the curls and bring a softer look. She took a long time and was very patient and charged me very reasonably. I would go back to her again and recommend her highly. more

Theresa is fantastic. I have been looking for an excellent hair stylist for curly hair for years now. In the past, I have gone to so-called curl experts where I have been insulted/judged and charged excessive rates. Theresa was friendly, personable, kind, and showed great expertise. When she told me what she would change about my current cut, it was like she was reading my mind. She listened to my concerns, included me in the process (explaining what she was doing, having me check the length in front and back before she cut, making sure I was pleased with the results.) These things sound simple, but it is amazing how many stylists act as though the client should have no input or opinion about her own hair! I drove from downtown Houston for my cut and I plan to do it again. I felt as though the drive was DEFINITELY worth it. I love going to get my hair done with Theresa at Hair Studio One!! She pampers my hair (and me) when I get my haircut and colored. I tell her that I always look forward to coming in because it's like being on a MINI-VACATION. Always really good results, great conversation and a great glass of wine. I have really curly hair that after going to visible changes all they did was pick it out and give me an Afro...I didn't even know my hair could do that. After checking out naturallycurly i found her and decided to try it. SHE DID AMAZING! My hair was so shiny and manageable and according to my mom the price is very affordable. I've been back twice since and every time it's been a great haircut. I will definitely be going back especially since it's so hard to find people to cut curly hair. She doesn't take that long either, of course I've never done a color so that might take longer, and the cut grows out really nicely. Definitely a good choice! I have naturally curly hair and since living in Houston (4 years) have not found anyone who knows how to cut it properly. After reading reviews on here, I decided to give Theresa a try. She was very accommodating when I made my appointment. Once I arrived for the appointment, she took the time to look at my hair, consider my face shape and review the pictures I sent in to see if the hairstyle I wanted would work for me (I intended to cut several inches off - think Keri Russell a few years back). She made me very comfortable and would periodically stop and let me see her progress to ensure it was what I was expecting. The end result was fantastic and I would absolutely recommend her to anyone with curly hair (or even someone with straight hair). I'll definitely be going back to her! I am in the medical profession from Galveston. I discovered Theresa Close when a friend referred her for her speciality with curly hair. I can honestly say that she has been a jackpot when it comes to haircuts. I have been with her for the past 2 years. In addition to making drives from Galveston, I have also drove down from Dallas before important interviews. She always delivers! One of the things I most appreciate is the time she takes to make sure everything is perfect, even if that means spending an hour or more! She is also very pleasant to talk to. She takes the time to make the experience as comfortable as possible. Being in the medical profession, Theresa takes the time to accommodate my busy schedule by staying late or even coming in on days when she is off. Alright, the secrets out! Women love guys with great hair! I setup an appointment with Theresa about 2 weeks ago and I am still amazed at how many compliments I get from girls. It is great to have all of the extra confidence but who would have thought that my hair would make the difference. I am not 100% sure but I think a women was flirting with me on at church!! I don't think I thank Theresa enough!! She gave me good advice and she was extremely patient with me. I never knew my hair could look so good. I used to just settle for whatever the hair stylist did with my hair but after I visited Theresa she showed me how good my hair could look. I didn't know what kind of look I wanted so it was so nice when Theresa let me go through some pictures and helped me decide what would look best on me. My husband thinks my hair looks great. He laughs every time he catches me just staring at my hair in the mirror. Theresa, where have you been all my life!? Pros: Theresa is the best! more
