Unity Church Of Christianity

I have been of member of several different denominations and found value in all of them. But Unity fits me best because it seeks, teaches and practices the highest truths, without rigid dogma... It is based on the teachings of Jesus, yet it recognizes and teaches truths from whatever source. If something is true and useful, it finds a home at Unity. There is also no inherent conflict with attending or being a member of Unity and also of another denomination, as far as Unity is concerned. It is a very open and open-minded church. Those who seek to continually learn and grow will find Unity very compatible. You might want to check it out and see if it offers something for you. It certainly has for me! I will also say that Unity is extremely compatible with many Buddhist teachings and practices. For me, the two greatest teachers are Jesus and Buddha, so this works out well! For 20 years I did not go to a church. Then I found this one and realized that it could nurture my spiritual growth in so many ways without making me feel bad in the process. I love the ministers, the people, the energy, the new sanctuary, and the vision of being a dynamic spiritual center. I have so many friends there I can hardly meet with them all. I found Unity Church 20 years ago, and I've been coming back regularly ever since! The principles of love and acceptance, and the Truth that God is our ever-present, intrinsic, internal Guidance, have sustained me through dark times, encouraged me during challenges, and cheered me on in triumph. Unity Church is about the unity among us all. We have all experienced that unity when we see the love between a mother and her child, when we observe the joy and innocence of a baby, when we share sorrow with another, when we are awestruck by a magnificant sunset, the calmness of a stream, the power of a waterfall, and the love between couples of all ages. I found Unity Church to be the most accepting Church in Houston and I'd been looking for a long time. This Church has given me the diginity to develop my own Spiritual journey. There was never any pressure to become a member and eventually I did join because I wanted to be part of this inclusive Church where everyone is welcome.
