I've used this tree service for the last ten years with good results. However this last time was a totally different story. I allowed this company in my backyard to trim my tree while I wasn't home, and not all of the work was completed. So I called them back, no problem, would come back and bring the ""bucket"" like they were supposed to the first time,( a service I paid additional for). Once again I wasn't home and left my gate unlocked so they could complete the work. Returning home that afternoon, I noticed they were in front of the house with the truck getting ready to leave. When they saw my truck, the workers kicked it in high gear, throwing things in the back, and drove off before I got there. Upon getting out of the truck, I immediately noticed there was some kind of ""oil"" on the street and in my driveway, a lot if it. When I went into the back it was everywhere on the concrete drive. They had taken my garden hose and washed it into my dirt newly prepared to plant grass. As i walked around in the tilled dirt(all of the yard had been tilled) I stepped in a huge puddle of the ""oil"" that had been dumped by the workers... and covered up! When I talked to ""Gene"" my contact at Ballard, he said they almost ruined the ""bucket truck"" when the hydraulic hose burst and they lost all the fluid. I then told him they dumped it in the dirt in my back yard and he needed to come over right away because this was a major issue. (They had captured the fluid in an old trash can of mine and used it to carry it to the back of the yard to dump it)The supervisor of the work crew denied what they had done. My response was I certainly hadn't dumped the fluid so who did? After owning up to everything, Gene brought the crew back and they hauled out what they could of the contaminated dirt, and filled it in with other dirt. The worker who dumped the fluid was the supervisor of the crew. He still has his job, I guess good help is hard to find. I'll never trust this company again.
