Much less than the dealer! 3/18/2012

I purchased a used Mazda6 that only came with one key. I called the Mazda dealer and they wanted $70 for just the key, and then $100 to program it (many cars have a chip in the key to ensure it is the correct key). I called The Key Guys and they offered to do it for a mere $85, including two door keys and a key to do everything. Apart from being a little slow to get to my house (I called ~ 6:30 and they arrived around 9:30), everything was absolutely perfect. Erik (I believe his name was) did a great job and was very quick and efficient when he arrived. Thanks, Key Guys! more

Horrible experience $250 and they made the wrong key 5/7/2009

I had a key made, was told after it didnt work that I had to wait for the computer to reset to use it. It didnt work still. I went to the dealer found out it was the wrong key and got one from them. When I called TheKeyGuys back I was informed that the technician was an independent contractor and TheKeyGuys were responsible for nothing. The contractor told me to get even another key made, as a spare or two, It would cost me another service call. According to Hennepin County Courthouse, my only recourse is small claims or reconciliation court. Cons: $250 wrong key they would not replace or compensate. more
