Editorial review from Citysearch 4/13/2013

I must agree with Hannah C, harpeth and vot2chg; There is definitely a customer service issue with this florist, especially not being able to accept being at fault. My grandmother passed away and I used Richland Florist as this was the flower shop my family used for the last 50 years. I went into the shop and talked with a very nice sales person, I expressed to her what I wanted in my flower spray and said specifically no carnations, she said the arranger would only use small carnations for filler. I agreed. If someone tells you they want pink, roses, lillies, a normal person would already begin pricing the higher spray, not the least expensive spray they would deliver. I would have paid whatever the price was for what I wanted, money was not an issue. When I arrived at the funeral home and saw that my spray was only carnations with a little blue wax flower filler I couldn't believe my eyes. I immediately contacted the florist and of course a Friday afternoon at 4pm, there was nothing they could do. I was told that I ordered the least expensive spray they arrange and that would be carnations. The owner Sharon Harwell, was very rude, she did not care about my feelings or that I was upset. She didn't even care that my grandmother has just passed away, that I was grieving and told me I should have read my receipt and made sure her employee wrote everything down correct. It was her employee that made the mistake, not me. That was her job to make sure I paid for what I asked for. She did not believe they did anything wrong and basically told me I was wrong. She truly needs a lesson in Customer Service and being a business woman I would think she would strive to make a better name for her flower shop and make her customers happy. I even asked her to meet me in the middle for 1/2 of my $120.00 back. She still stood by her decision that she wasn't at fault. I cried when I saw those hideous flowers and I promise you and the world I will never use Richland Florist again, and if I could I would put this on TV. Without customers you don't make any money, without money, you don't eat! Shame on you Richland Florist and the Harwell family. I truly hope this doesn't happen to you, but just remember what goes around comes around and I sleep well at night, and by the comments on this webpage, you must toss and turn at night because you seem to be a very unhappy and unpleasant person. Lesson learned never pay cash, use your debit card so you can dispute charges. Signed with a sincere heart Kimberly Simmons! more

Never Received Flowers 11/3/2009

Ordered a funeral spray, but I never saw it, and grieving family never received the flowers. Florist said they delivered, so I had to pay for flowers that never materialized. Will NEVER use again. more

Florist delivery left outside, Customer Service Null&Void when alerted of the incident, Just Nasty ! 9/6/2007

After the death of a relative my job sent a plant. Richland delivered the plant while I was at work on a day when it was extremely hot outside ( 09/05) and when no one was home, left it outside. A note was left on the garage door which I lift to pull into. I phoned to alert them of the issue. It is a bad practice and brcause the presentation of the product suffers. Once transfered to the owner, She suggested I put it back out there and have them pick it up. I explained this was improper because of the reason that my job had sent it to me, jut wanted to alert them of the bad practice. I was chastised for possibly living in a bad neighborhood, being concerned of theft, and finally told how long they had been in business and they had never had a complaint. Understand this plant was left free standing for 5+ hours and it is not an outdoor plant. Th final straw that gets Richland the Not Recommended, is the notice from the owner that she is not familar with the area (Cane Ridge) but will tell the person who accepted the delivery botto take any other orders from this area. Customer Service at Richland, I think Not! Pros: May have been the plant, but it was left outside in the sun for 5 hours Cons: Attitude of the Owner when making complaint, plant once I got to it more
