My mom lives in assisted living, has dementia and can no longer drive. She calls Yellow Cab weekly for a ride to her hair salon. Recently she could not remember how to get there. Her driver Leonard realized her confusion, figured out where they had been before, and got her there. He talked with the hairdresser and his supervisor George and made sure everyone was aware of what happened. I live on the West Coast, and heard about this from the assisted living staff. It's very important that my mom keep some independence as long as possible. Because of Leonard and George's compassion and problem solving, my mom will have her freedom a little longer, since we now set up a weekly appointment.
