We had an unwanted pest problem due to the old age of our home, and contacted Colwell for their services. The owner came out and seemed friendly enough, but when we asked for a one-time treatment, he basically "fast-talked" us into a yearly contract. After he left, we noticed that according to the contract and PA law, we had three days to cancel. My husband called on the second business day to cancel the contract, and was treated VERY rudely by the owner. There were a number of illegal things that Colwell did--just a couple:\r
1. They never gave us a notice of cancellation with our contract (required by state law)\r
2. Owner told my husband rudely that he was doing us a "favor", because he could make us stick to the contract (No, not according to the law).\r
BTW, they now want us to pay $100 for "services" to get out of the contract. So, if you have a pest problem, go somewhere else, but RUN from Colwell.
