Buyer Beware 2/17/2012

I used to work for this company many years ago at the Krewstown store, and I find some of the bad reviews here to be very true. The junk store review was spot on. They do (or at least did when I was there) buy their products second hand, which is how they can sell their stuff so cheaply. Often they would buy from other stores that went out of business. Also, many (if not all) of the products that had a use by date were purchased by them already past that date, and as an employee I was told to put the price sticker over the expiration date to hide it so the customers had no idea they were buying a product like hair dye (or salad dressing for example which they sold at the time I was there) that was already out of date. I don't know if they still do this, but I can't imagine they have changed this policy unless they got caught. Ive seen a manager at the southampton store, tell a customer if she doesnt like it , then not to shop there. and all the customer was doing, was trying to return something.\r I wont shop there since I heard this.\r If she treats that customer that way, she surely would treat any other customer the same way.\r and this customer wasnt being difficult. more

A Junk Store 6/15/2009

This is basically a junk store. All of the so called "salon only" products are purchased second hand since they are not an authorized dealer for salon products. It's called diversion. It's a junk store and the help is pitiful. more

unfriendly service 3/5/2009

I have to say that this store has a great selection of make up and other beauty products at a very reasonable price. But the nasty employees make me rethink shopping here and just going to Sephora or Ulta instead. I have been to both the Krewstown and Somerton locations and both of them have very rude employees. Whenever I ask for a price on something without a tag they act like I'm asking for a kidney. They also follow me around constantly and don't even try to hide the fact. It makes me feel very uncomfortable and I rarely have a good experience there. They are very stuck up and not helpful at all. Next time I think I'll spend my money where I feel more welcome. more

Very helpful Staff 2/4/2009

I have been going to Beauty Land for years. I always find unique makeup and perfume that I can not find anywhere else. I have always had a pleasant experience with the women that work in the Cosmetics Department. The Cosmetics manager is always so helpful, if I can not find exactly what I am looking for she always has a recommendation for me. During the Christmas holiday she helped me find perfume gift sets for my daughters. I also liked he way the perfumes and gift sets were set up. I am sure that I will be shopping at your store for many years to come. more

MEssage to The Manager 1/22/2009

I was in the Beautyland on Krewstown the other day and there was this one woman who had to be the most unhelpful employee ever. I was in the cosmetics aisle looking at the eyeliner, and I asked this woman with short hair her opinion on what I should get, and she was just sitting behind the desk, filling her nails away and compeltely ignored me. I knew that she heard me, she jsut kept on filling away, too stuck up in her own world to do her job and help a customer. To the Manager of this store: please give this woman a lesson in attitudes towards customers. She is badly in need of one. Luckily a very nice young lady came up and asked me if I needed help and was able to sort me out very quickly. She, like the comment below, even helped me find the same eyeliner, but in a cheaper brand. Now THAT is customer service. more

Not a Happy Customer 1/20/2009

I've caught employees that work at the Krewstown store using make up products and then returning them to the shelves. I was SHOCKED! I've also seen employees using the clear nail polish and then closing the top and AGAIN placing it back on the shelves. UNBELIEVEABLE! The help is very rude, I discontinued shopping at this store once I saw all of this! NO THANK YOU! more

nasty help! 12/17/2008

recently i was shopping at krewstown, beautyland. was treated with no respect. the young girls in the makeup dept all have a chip on there shoulders. what happened to all the good help that used to work there? maybe the owner should take a good look at the help he has.would not recommend shopping there to my friends. i like shopping at newtown.cleaner store and the help knows what they are doing. unsatisified shopper. more

Unbelievable that this store is the same as the Newtown store !I guess it is the area but the customers and the help are nasty. The Newtown store is refreshing and helpful and will go out of their way to speical order things. The Southampton store is 2nd in the way they treat customers - again I do believe it is the location! Check out Newtown and you will not believe it is owned by the same family ! more

Still a great place! 9/25/2008

The review prior to this has GOT to be mistaken. I've always gotten help without a problem... especially in the nail polish section. And infact, just last week I was looking at the NYX eye shadows and a young lady came up to me, asking me if I needed help. I explained to her that I was just browsing the colors before I got paid so I could decide what to buy when that day came. She even recommended a Maybelline brand, which is cheaper than NYX! Hmm... go figure. Not once have I ever felt that I was too poor or not uppity enough to shop there!! more

Used to be a great store 5/26/2008

Since I was a kid my family and I have shopped at this store. However, over the past 5 years or so they have changed. They used to be a more friendly and unique store. They still carry the basics but I guess they are trying to become more of a "specialty" store trying to cater to a wealthier customer. Which I understand, however in this day and age stick with what you do best and for Beautyland that should be discounted goods that EVERYONE can afford and don't forget about the customers that helped you become the store that you are today! Just cause we all shopped there when we were younger and you were the only type of store at that time does not mean that we are stuck to shopping in only your store. And in my opinion I would watch out for most of the help there since when you ask for help the act like you are really putting them out instead of asking them to do their job! I would say that would mostly be because of the owner (s) since it is up to them to make sure that they hire poli more

Large Selection 11/21/2005

Beautyland has all you need for your beauty needs. They have perumes, deodorants and they used to have sports cards. I used to go as a kid to buy sports cards, but they have gone away from that. It is a good store with reasonable prices. more
