Ballroom At The Ben

The wedding planner promised us the day of our dreams there, and it was the worst nightmare ever! They ran out of food for 70 of our guests and gave some of them leftover mashed potatoes from cocktail hour. Some of our guests were sitting/waiting for their meal for an hour and a half. We paid money to have menus created that were only followed for the first 180 of our guests. They also broke my champagne flutes before we were able to use them, their waiters were using the ""F"" word to our guests, and they forgot to put our the napkins we had brought in. I wish I never got married here, and hope that you learn from my bad experience. There are plenty of quality places in the Philly area, and the Ballroom at the Ben is not one of them. Top notch Indian restaurant in the city. You get the whole package at Palace at the Ben. Great food, very nice decor and impeccable service. more

My husband and I married at the Ballroom at the Ben on July 16, 2006. We booked the venue back in March of 2005 and from the beginning, we had a wonderful experience planning our wedding. The wedding itself ran smoothly and seamlessly, and both the sales and banquet staff ensured that our every need was met. The food was phenomenal, served hot and at precisely the same moment, which was quite a feat considering that we had nearly 300 guests in attendance. We served filet mignon, chilean sea bass, and chicken madeira as our entree choices (as part of a 4-course meal). The Viennese Room was a huge success and offered a variety of desserts ranging from chocolate covered strawberries to hazelnut mirror cake as well as assorted liquers and cappucino. The staff paid incredible attention to detail and happily made substitutions for me. One of our vegetarian guests noted that the vegetable napoleon she ordered was delicious.
