Back in 2008, my leopard gecko had gotten shed in his eye and I couldn't get it out for him. So I called my vet and booked an emergency appointment. The counter staff was very helpful, but when it came time to take care of my lizard the vet tech had grabbed my poor lizard in a way that had frightened him. He felt threatened, and he decided to snap his tail off. As upset as I was I tried to stay calm until the doctor came in, but I heard through the door that the vet tech was talking nasty about my lizard, saying he was ""nasty"". Well, if he was handled correctly, he wouldn't have been frightened, my friend.
When the Vet finally came in, I was in tears because my lizard was mistreated, and now with half his tail in my hand. He shrugged it off and played it like it never happened.
My lizards eye never healed after this visit, he is actually blind in that eye. His tail did grow back, in which they do but it's not the same. I have difficulty feeding him crickets as I have to clear out the entire cage and scoot the crickets toward him to eat or rip their legs off.
I do not recommend this hospital to lizard owners AT ALL.
