Honest, friendly, fair 8/5/2011

After interviewing 3 coin companies, Columbia Coin offered the best return on my aunt's coin collection, consisting mostly of pre-1965 silver alloy coins. The members of the family-owned business were very fair, informative, honest, and friendly to deal with on my visiits to their business location. Their coin displays were organized, and easy to view. They also directed us to a business that would buy sterling flatware at best price, when another told us that the flatware was worthless. They are located at SE 51st and Hawthorne...parking is convenient and uncrowded. I would not hesitate to do business with them again when the occasion arises. They are very professional and fair. more

Ethical Company 1/30/2011

I have purchased coins from this vendor a few times and felt they were always honest and fair. I pay attention to my surroundings at all times and have seen how they have dealt with people selling their collections and always have seen smiles and handshakes at the conclusion of a dozen or so transactions. I'm not sure what happened to this other fellow for all the sour grapes but I'd bet whoever he called just wanted him to come to them next time by spoiling his memory with falsehoods & woulda-coulda-shoulda's. more

seller beware 8/13/2010

be very careful with this merchant. i recently called them for a quote on a pile of bulk coins. when i got to the store they low balled me and spent considerable time convincing me that i could not get a better price anywhere else. so i reluctantly sold my complete collection. later i called a couple of other dealers and found out they would both have given me considerably more. it is very disappointing to trust that all dealers operate very close to the same price margins with small variation, and ethics. this is one that does NOT. more
