We have been going to Wah Sun for at least 10 yrs. I have to say that in the last 2 yrs it has been going downhill. The prices seem to go up every few months, and the portions are smaller and smaller. There is hardly any meat in their dishes, noticeably the House LoMein that we order all the time, and you're lucky to find 1-2 shrimp in the shrimp & lobster sauce. The food is still good but we have found we've had to order an extra dinner to make sure there's enough for everyone which adds another $10 to our dinner tab. We always get the food to go. I am loking for a new chinese restaurant in the Chesterland area .... the pickin's are slim! more

THE BEST TASTING CHINESE FOOD IN OHIO. Period. 3/4/2008

YUMMMMM! Food just tastes EXCELLENT! Big difference between this Chinese restaurant and others. I have been to MANY and have SELECTED ONE! The decor is lacking a notch (it's neat) when comparing it to a high-end wearhouse district joint, but so does every Chinese restaurant that I have ever been in. The food is so good that I have trouble being adventurous: I pick one thing and when I come back the only thing that is on my mind when I order is the same thing I ordered last time. I bring all my good friends there and every one orders their usual favorite and then comment how much better it tastes at Wah Sun! This gives me a chance to explore different foods! The restaurant is ran by a very polite Chinese family. They have been hiring [very nice] new waiters lately, but I prefer to be waited by one of the family members. They have the most excellent habit of remembering you, things about you, and the things you ordered (even if it was months ago and you are trying to remember what was on your friend's plate). I urge you to bear with their Cantonese accent and strike a conversation with the Chinese waiters every chance you get - especially when you are waiting for food and it is not too busy. Very nice people indeed. After a year of going there I got in a habit of tipping at least $10 even if I am alone (meaning I only order $8 worth). I have a very strict tipping standards (many times around Cleveland I tip $0) and this place gets 150% on every level. Also note the portions! $8 will fill you up like no other. If you spend $15 (you will most likely need friend's help with any order over 1/2 Qrt ~$4) you will feel PLEASANTLY full and not the sick kind of why-the-hell-did-I-eat -all-this-food kinda full that you get from other Chinese restaurants.FINAL THOUGHTS: Bring your friends, bring your family, bring your dates. Get Singapore Ho-Fun (wide rice noodles with pork, shrimp, and veggies) and their amazing fried potstickers! This is my first resturant review! YEY! =) Pros: FOOD, PEOPLE. Cons: I'm not eating there now.... more

BEST CHINESE FOOD IN CLEVELAND 6/22/2007

This is one gem of a restaurant. Let me be the first to say that the decor and ambiance is a bit strange...but get past it. The food is knockout delicious. I honestly feel that this is better than any other place in northern ohio (probably all of ohio). I have eaten at many of the places in the top ten and none can touch Wah Sun. The value is outstanding. Low prices and large servings. Please do yourself a service and make the journey out to Chesterland. You will not be dissapointed. Another good chinese joint not on this list is Tai Pan in Middlefield, OH....way out in the country. Almost as good as Wah Sun. Stop reading this review and go get some delicious Wah Sun! Pros: Value, Value, Value. Tea is complimentary. Freshest ingredients are used. High quality meats. Very sanitary restaurant. Absolutely fantastic. Cons: I really cannot think of anything. Not a romantic place...thats about it. more
