Thanksgiving flop 11/25/2011

Lived in new York and your cheesecake was a frequent item for many a dinner. Moved to Florida 20 yrs ago still continue to order cheesecake. Then my son started to. So for thanksgiving I ordered. A pumpkin and a strawberry. The cheesecake I remembered was not these cakes. The pumpkin was so dry you couldn't eat it. I remember the smooth creamy that you would savor every mouthful. The strawberry was a little better but not as I hoped it would be. Needless to say. The expectation was missed by a mile. Junior's Cheesecake 7/23/2009

Recently brought 2 cakes (one plain / one with cherry-pineapple- blueberry topping) from Brooklyn to Phoenix, Az. No problem with airport security. Froze them the nite before and packed them in a thermal bag with ice in plastic bags. Boxes were damp but held up. Well worth the effort. The same great cheesecake I remembered. Not too sweet, as close to perfect as i've found. The price has gone up considerably from my last trip to N.Y. (15 years) but well worth it. Highly recommend! more

I remember going to Junior's at least twice a week after school back in my high school days. Everyone loves the cheesecake! If you want to purchase one for a holiday, prepare to wait on a very long line along the block! Strawberry Cheesecake. and their GIANT strawberry shortcake! more

I think Junior's is vastly overrrated. Yes, the cheesecake is very very good, but people act like it's the only cheesecake that ever was or has ever been. as for the rest of their food, I'd say I'm less than underwhelmed. If you wan tthe epxerience, go see something at BAM and then stroll over to Junior's and stick with the plain cheesecake. Everything else is just too gloopy and gloppy to actually taste like anything other than a heart attack. more

Love the cheescake 5/8/2006

Whenever we are in the area, we visit Juniors to have some cheesecake. I have had many cheesecakes but I do think Junior's is the best. The rest of their food is just ok and expensive in my opinion. We usually end up ordering something because my husband doesn't want to go somewhere else and eat and then go there just for cheescake, but the food is just so-so. more

All the folks who rave about Junior's cheesecake have lost their taste buds or have never had truly good cheesecake. Overrated and overpriced is my long held opinion. A Brooklyn landmark, the food and service have not stood the test of time. For those who don't want to make the trek to B'klyn, there will soon be an outpost in that tourist mecca Times Square. Don't think I will visit. more

Junior's is reputed to be the best cheesecake place out there, and I have to say that I agree. They completely deserve their reputation for excellent cheesecakes. The only con (aside from the calories, ahh!) is the price, which is a bit high for students like myself. Once in a while, though, treat yourself to some delicious cheesecake. more

Junior's is the best! 4/4/2006

I used to get cheesecake from Junior's all the time, back in my Brooklyn Tech days, but now I find that I don't actually have time to go into Brooklyn just to get the cheesecake. Sometimes though, my friend gets a craving for a pastrami and muenster cheese sandwich from one of the deli's around the area and I want Junior's, and in those instances, we drive into Brooklyn just to get some. Oh, how I miss the convenience of my old stop at Junior's on the way home. Also, I don't know if anyone actually goes to Junior's to eat actual food because it seems as if most people just go for their famous cheesecake. Their diner food is pretty decent, although it isn't anything special. more

The place for New York Cheesecake 2/2/2006

Every time I am back in town, one of the must stops is at Juniors. Whether its for a slice and coffee, or to pick up a cake to take out, this is THE place for cheesecake. I do have to say, you should be aware that parking stinks in this area, so take the bus or train unless you have someone who will drive around till you get the cake. Also, this place can be busy any time of the day or evening. So be prepared for a small wait in line to pickup. But it is worth the trouble. Absolutely the BEST cheesecake in New York City. more

if you like cheesecake you will love this place. you can come here just to have cheesecake or to have a whole meal. all of the food here is excellent. the slices of cheesecake that they serve are pretty big and the prices for them are not bad. it's 5 dollars for a pretty big slice. they have different flavors such as chocolate and rasberry cheesecakes. the food is good too. they have sandwiches, ribs, and even steaks. the portions are really big and are well worth the price. the service is very professional and friendly. and the restaurant is really nice. it has a very classic look, and is a great place to go to for lunch. more

Great Desert Place to Visit While in NYC 12/17/2005

As local New Yorkers all know, this is one of the top places to go for cheesecake. We can always go into Manhattan and drop by Little Italy but every borough of NYC has their own unique great eats. I have loved them since I first discovered them and it's worth making the trek into Brooklyn to get some of their delicious cheesecake. Everything is made fresh and you certainly can taste it. If you can't choose from the many varieties they offer, just go with your classic plain with fresh strawberries. I've always stuck to that one -- simply divine. Definitely a must visit for those who haven't discovered it yet. more

Best Cheesecake in Brooklyn!33 8/15/2005

Juniors has the best cheesecake anywhere! They have a large selection of cheesecakes.(plain, blueberry, strawberry and pineapple), but are best known for the strawberry with the crumbs on the side (sort of like a crumb cake topping). Juniors serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, but be sure to go light because the cornbread and cheesecake will fill you up! more

Simply put, best cheesecake in Brooklyn--possibly in all of New York City. Ask any true New Yorker where to get good cheesecake and nine times out of ten, you will hear Junior's Cheesecake as one of the locations. They are famous for their mouth watering cakes and they live up to their reputation. I, myself, is not a cheesecake enthusiast, I much rather prefer ice cream. However, good food will always be good food. So even though I might not be the biggest cheesecake fan, I still have to admit that it was a delicious to say the least. more

The best piece of cheesecake in Brooklyn 7/29/2005

Oh, it's a mouth watering SIN! It's absolutely awesome! I've never eaten anything other than their cheesecake but I hear the rest of the menu isn't so bad itself! It's a place that I definitely make a stop off at anytime I am near downtown Brooklyn! I took a friend of mine from out of town to get a slice and she was so impressed and amazed that she took pictures of her cheesecake! more

The Famous Cheesecake 7/15/2005

Yes this is the famous cheesecake that P. Diddy sent the members of Da Band to get him. I decided to see for myself how good this cheesecake really is. So I went there and I was not disappointed. I had a slice of a plain cheesecake which was about five dollars, quite a lot for a slice of cheesecake. But it was well worth it! That stuff was delicious! more
