Stay away! rude disrespectful unsanitary!!!! 2/12/2013

Where do I start? Aging building, visible dirt from lack of cleaning. I went to sit in a dirty chair in the waiting area and could smell urine. My first thought was a child had an accident? Then I realized it was 9am and very few people had been in. I told the receptionist and she laughed when she smelled it too and grabbed a can of Lysol and sprayed it around the waiting room. Obvious lack of concern. I then had to wait At least 45 minutes before being shuffled between three rooms by an assistant that clearly thought his job was pointless and subjected to an obsurd amount of xrays. The female dentist was rude and disrespectful, mocking my dental floss and saying that using portable floss picks was for kids and I should "grow up". I was then told that I needed over 10,000 dollars worth of dental work and an appt was scheduled for the start when my insurance kicked in. Fast forward I called to make sure they had my insurance and was advised they never got it. I called my insurance and they confirmed they had sent it and everything was good. The office staff still couldn't find anything so I had information faxed and rescheduled appt. Fast forward again, they still didn't have insurance info at 830 spot and I was told they had to wait for some guy that will be in at 9 but they removed me from my spot because there was no more open spots, the receptionist said it happens all time and she couldn't find my insurance in the guys desk full of papers.. I will be finding a new primary dentist. Avoid at all cost!!! more

Very professional 2/22/2012

Will all the new dentist popping up in and around town and all the fancy offices it's nice to be able to go one of the good ones like the office in Lewisville, TX. I am happy with the way the office staff treats me on the phone and when I hit the door, Barbara is the best at X-rays, and Brandon is worth the wait. The man is a clean machine! The way dentist and the staff smiles makes you want to smile even more. more

Awesome staff 1/2/2012

Awesome, awesome staff. Tim was a great dentist, and the rest of the office staff was very helpful. Very rarely have I been able to make jokes and laugh while getting dental work done. more

Very nice 12/29/2011

The dentist at the Lewisville office was very nice. He explained everything he was going to do before he did it. He made me feel at ease. I was very satisfied with my experience. more

Dr. Tim Parmley is the best 12/22/2011

Dr. Tim Parmley is the best. He is so kind and did such a great job on my root canal. The minute he pulled the nerve out of my tooth, relief came over my whole body from the pain I had been suffering for months. He is absolutely a great doctor. I am so happy to have found him and your office. I need much more work done and I hope he can work with me and fix all my problems so that I have not only a beautiful smile but a healthy mouth! thanks.. more

most painful dental experience ever 4/12/2010

The dentist was rude when I told her I was still in pain after the shot that was given to numb my mouth. When I told her she was hurting me, she just acted like I was exaggerating. Her response was, "So, you just want me to stop?" Acted like it was my problem that I couldn't handle the pain, and wouldn't do anything to help. I have had tons of dental procedures since I was a child, everything from braces to implants. Never have I had a dentist blame me/refuse to help make me as comfortable as possible. These people work here b/c they can't cut it in a more professional office, or have chronic professional problems. Find a private practice w/ competent and caring dentists. more

DO NOT GO HERE!! 3/18/2010

We took our daughter here for a tooth extraction. We were told that she needed IV sedation in order for her to be brought in ASAP. If we went with local anestesia it would be a month before they could get her in. So basically, if you're willing to pay an extra 200 dollars, they'll bring you in right away. Our appt was at 12, she didn't even get to see the doctor until 3PM!!! She is under age, and they refused to allow her mom to be back there while she was "under". The dental assistant and the dentist were both very rude and disrespectful. If you have a choice, do not go here. I don't know how other Monarch dentals pan out, but do all you can to avoid this facility. The 10 ratings speak for themselves. more

Good luck paying for it 8/27/2009

From the people I have talked to since going there with my family, they tell everyone they "need" a $500 night guard and the ever popular deep cleaning. We changed our insurance because of them. They were the only ones in North Texas! that take dental HMO insurance. Long list of dentists but all part of Monarch. Apparently, they make little money from insurance, most of their money comes from unnecessary and not covered procedures. more

Still in Pain 7/30/2009

Date of appointment was 7/30/09 Found this office through Internet search. The front desk folks were polite enough, but the wait was far too long. I got there at 9:00 for a 9:15 appointment and was not called back until almost 10:00. Got my x-ray done and waited for the Doc. He came in and talked to me as if he hadn't even seen my chart. He didn't believe I was in pain, and he didn't even have me open my mouth to look at my tooth. He just referred me out to a Specialist to have it pulled. Over all this was a lousy dental experience. I do not recommend them. more

Bad...overcharge 7/1/2009

I went there to get an estimate to a deep cleaning recommended by my dentist.I have really good insurance and they gave me an $11,000 bill! My insurance covered most of it but still i had to pay $2000 out of my pocket. They told me i needed grafts and some other stuff, that wasn't even mentioned by my dentist. I came home and read the reviews that they charge you for stuff you don't need to just get money and charge according to insurance. I went to a another doctor in Coppell and they gave me a $600 dollars bill without insurance!!! Theor location was far better than this place and they told me i don't have gum disease and don't need any grafts!. I would recommend anyone to stay away from this place. They just want your money and will put a patient to any kind of pain and procedures to get it out of you! more

Nothing due at clinic but the bill come by $226 for just to see 1/14/2009

I had a Careington Plan. They told me go to Monarch Dental at Mckinney. I went and asked is there any charge through this plan. It took them 1 Hour to figure it out and say No there is no charge for initial Consultation However there will be a charge for Cleaning on your second Visit. So I asked one more time before i left, Is there anything I owe? They said NO. Guess what I got the bill of $226.00 on August 31,sept, oct, Nov, dec, 2008 and called them. They told me I got a service so I got to pay. I said What service? They didn't clean My teeth, I I just go there to clean. They were constantly sending due bills. Now they are telling me that they will sent the file to collection. So i stop Here Mckinney Monarch Dental Office on HWY 75 & 380 and told them " I asked before and After Leaving your place, Did I owe Anything?" You guys said NO. now why Bills are coming to me. I got a problem. There is a Mckinney Dental Group charge $39.00 for cleaning and X-ray tell me which is better $ 226 for nothing or $39 for cleaning and X-ray more

fair pricing fair staff, professional work 12/6/2005

All the reviews I have read had nothing more to say than it takes too long to get in to be seen. What I have to say to that is, what do you think is going to happen when it's the most affordable alternative in your area??!! I went to one dentist in Carrollton and my work was going to cost over 10,000 out of pocket, not including 3,000 in insurance payment. Sweet mary I couldn't dream of it without ruining my immediate financial future. Monarch charged me a total out of pocket of about 6,000. Praise the Lord...I can swallow that. So now I see why they are so busy, and why it "takes so long (boo hoo to you whining people)" to get an appointment. I am a single male with no kids and minimal bills and I know I don't have the financial strain that many single parent families or even other two parent, 2+ kids homes have, so a less expensive alternative is essential to you and yours' dental health. That said I personally feel they do great quality professional work as well. I mean come on people, Monarch has real live dentists too, they are not just actors. You roll the dice when you walk into any institution; some doctors are better than others, and mine is kind, helpful, and does a great job. The way I see it is if you have one business seeing 100 patients a month and another seeing 1000+ (just hypothetical to make my point) then of course you are going to have a greater chance and number of not so pleasant visits and complaints from the higher volume business. That's not to say the lower volume business does not have complaints, they are just under the radar. Example: Bob's corner store makes a mistake who hears about it...nobody but the victim and their momma; Wal-Mart makes a mistake the world hears about it on late night breaking news...but you tend to forget all the millions of happy Wal-Mart customers while you're listening to the complaint. I'm sorry this is so long but I just wanted to write something that sounded a bit more insightful and intelligent than the next guy so maybe this could truly help you, the single mother, you the college student, you the single father, etc. to make an educated decision on what you are willing to spend in comparison to what you are going to get in the long run. Which in my opinion is the same thing you would get from the high dollar dentists more

AVOID 10/1/2005

I have had terrible experience with Monarch Dental in Plano, Tx. And before I tell more about my experience, some of my co-workers have had bad experiences with them. Went there during office hours obviously and was told to wait for my turn. 30 minutes passed and I asked how long, was told to wait 15 minutes. After 1.5 housr had passed I asked what was taking so long. The person at the desk replies, Oh your appointment is not for today. We forgot to call and let you know. I was furious and just left the place. Called them later and filed a formal complaint through snail mail. If you have other options, and Im sure there are some, just avoid them. more
