Cox Communications has a monopoly in this area, as well as many others, so you are really limited on choices for television programming, high speed internet, etc. Well, we decided to give Cox a chance. Their prices are higher than many places, but we wanted the high speed internet. From the day we signed up, we had problems with their internet service. We also had VOIP, so when our internet wasn't working, our phone wouldn't either. I spent countless hours on a pay phone waiting on hold for their representatives, who couldn't solve my problems any more than I could. Then, the modem fried on us. I was so sick of dealing with their awful support by that time, that I decided to cancel the service. We had already been trying for over a month after the modem quit to get it working again. Well, Cox wanted us to pay $75 to cancel our internet service! I was outraged, especially when the problems we were having were due to their equipment. I finally got it all solved and taken care of, and we still have thier cable television services, but if I ever move to an area that offers something other than Cox, I will definitely switch!
