Bookmans

About a year ago a Bookmans opened up a couple miles away from where I live. If you hate borrowing books from the library yet you still hate paying full price for a book this is a great store to go to. Not every book will be there but there is a heck of a selection. This is the wasteful spender in me talking, but it's a great store to browse and just see what you can find. Other than books in the store they have a used magazine section, a music and electronics section and a kids corner than has used toys and games. It's too tempting to buy something every time I go so I try to avoid it as much as possible. LOL You can also sell any of these things at the store...this is based on supply, demand and condition, of course. more

any time I want a used book or movie I head here- they have a ton of stuff- they also will hold items for you- so if you call them and need something- they will hold it till you get there they have a huge selection of used items- I also am able to find new magazines for half off the normal price- bathrooms here are great- always clean and fully stocked more

I really like going to Bookmans. The store is HUGE, the staff is very friendly and helpful. I am able to be in the store, and push my son in his stroller with no problem. I always go in with a list of books that I am looking for (usually 5-10) and leave with at least half of my “wanted” list, plus 4-5 more that just looked good!. It is a used book store, so sometimes not all books are available, but that’s ok! The staff is not pushy, trying to get you to buy other books when they do not have what you want, which is GREAT! I always leave the store knowing I will go back! They are in a large strip mall, so parking is a breeze! I go about once a month or so and stock up! They also have a nice selection of Children’s books. I have not taken my son in yet, but the aisles are good sized, and should be ok with a stroller. more

This is a great used bookstore. With most used bookstores that I have visited it is very hit-or-miss as to whether I find a book that I may be looking for, as the inventory is constantly changing. But with this store it is way more hit than miss! The place is just huge. They also have many other items like music and movies. They also have a very large selection of used and old magazines, and lots of used comic books. Most of the comics are not in great condition, but they are very cheap to buy. more

Bookmans isn't just a bookstore, it is a store where people can come and trade books, music, games, and get money to but other great used items. Bookmans has a great reading atmosphere and fun free events to attend. They have a dance class where you can learn the art of belly dance with an experienced instructor, animal adoptions where you have the choice to adopt an elegant greyhound. They have an open mic night, Children's night, Gaming events, musical events, and even people who can tell personal tarot readings. Bookmans is a great place to shop and trade. They have a great CD selection and thousands of great books. Its one of the best places in Phoenix. more
