Very Disappointing 10/31/2014

A very close friend was recently released from Lakeshore after almost 2 months of treatment. Seemed like the Doctor was trying to really help her, tried several different medications, final one he put her on has in his words severe complications if she suddenly stops taking it. She was sent home without medication just a prescription which was a 2 day nightmare trying to get it filled. Her blood is to be check after a week on it before she can have a refill. Since she was released the hospital will not check it and her insurance was changed do to Medicaid changes and her past Doctors do not accept her insurance. Where can she go from here she does not accept her illness and stops taking her medication until she totally shuts down and ends up back in a Hospital. The cycle has been going on for almost 20 years. Family and friends are at a loss to help her. The Mental Hospitals drug them and send them out as fast as they can without any possibility of a positive result. more

What a horrible place. 2/18/2013

The majority of the staff is uncaring, unprofessional, and uncooperative. They do not want to deal with patients, period. My daughter tried to bring to their attention that one of the patients was bothering her and she was told to leave the nurses' station or she would be injected and confined to her room. When they wrote on her report that she refused to take her meds I asked if she could be offered her meds in front of us her parents, they refused. more

I think this hospital is way beyond hospitals i have been to in other cities. The food is excellent for a hospital for inpatient, the team leaders who educate, counsel and treat patients are kind and considerate because they have been in YOUR shoes (me included). People in my positions of receiving treatment can be kind of rude, abusive and arrogant to staff and this staff is educated and trained to deal with the DISEASE of ADDICTION where they listen and then take matters into their own hands to couple wisdom with action. If you don't want to change or you do want to change take a gradual step of faith and go here, you won't be disappointed. Little steps in the right direction helps. Its not the hospital that needs changing it those of use still using street drugs and not taking our meds regularly. I give this hospital a 9 out of 10 for compassionate understanding with a comprehensive approach to treatment more

Psychiatric Hospital 5/10/2006

One of my cousins worked here as a resident for a short time. This is a pretty small hospital that is a branch of the Swedish Covenant Hospital down the road. This small branch is actually a psychiactric hospital. The security here is pretty tight and they make sure that everybody is kept safe. The doctors here are also very dedicated and work long and hard to help their patients. This hospital is small, but it is very well kept and very clean. more
