Carlos O'kelly's Mexican Cafe

I've eaten several times at Carlos O'Kelly's since they have opened. No matter when I go, or what I eat it all tastes the same to me. It's nothing special. Chain restaurant mexican food, that the corporate cookbook provides the so-called chef. I would much rather eat Mexican at one of the locally owned restaurants, where the food is authentic. Try Taqueria El Porton on Main Street for real Mexican food cooked by Mexicans, and owned by Mexicans. If you want Mexican food got to a Mexican, not a wanna-be....... more

If I had to pick one restaurant to eat at for the rest of my life, it would be Carlos O'Kelly's. I have tried most of the items on the menu, and have never found anything there I didn't like! They offer margaritas in several flavors and sizes, all great values for the money. The fajitas are always sizzling, and their queso is the best out there. The wait staff is friendly and fun. We go there so much that they know what to bring us to drink, and get surprised when we order odd things. The once or twice the food hasn't been 100% (like too salty chips, or sour cream when we asked for none, otherwise, the actual food is always incredibly tasty), it's been fixed and then some. We found a penny in our salsa once and got a free meal and a huge apology from the manager. My husband used to work as a waiter, and he's extra critical on the wait staff. There is only one waitress there we dread getting, and even she's not as bad as most 'ok' waiters in other places. Carlos. It's where we're going for dinner tonight! more
