I was a gym member here for about 6 months
It's clean, most of the machines are ""evo"" I have never seen them in any other gym and I have belonged to many along the years. That's is never a good thing.
They might resemble equipment you have used in other gyms but that doesn't mean they'll work the same way.
The parking is a nightmare and mission impossible after 6pm. They do validate, but you have to be so lucky to find a parking space first. there are many parking structures near by, but also crowds of people trying to park.
Some of the classes are pretty good, but again, it's hard to get in, that is a small exercise room.
Good place to work out if you are not claustrophobic, this is the smallest gym around, but most importantly if you don't have any complaints about the place or if you do have them, you better just keep them to yourself.
I was asked to LEAVE by the owner, Tom Williams, because I politely informed , the manager and various staff about a weight machine malfunctioning for weeks.
He interrupted my work out to corner me in between machines to whisper menacingly:
""If you are not happy here, you don't have to stay, I'm the owner, if you are not happy in my gym you don't have to stay""
and with that he escorted me out of the gym.
But don't worry!
Nobody else was disturbed, since he was so ""kind"" not to raise his voice so only I could hear him and I got a full refund of the days I didn't use that month, he was very good about the refund and prompt too since I was on my way out
Yep! THAT is the OWNER'S idea of customer service!
No ""sorry for the inconvenience, we'll take a look at it right away""
But
if you don't like it, just GO AWAY already!! attitude
The only reason I was working out there was because I could walk to the gym on my lunch break, I could cope with the, no name, no incline ellipticalls, intermittent audio on a good day video too but deal with a Big BULLY on top of that? No thanks! Not Happy at all!
If I had purchased crappy machines for my impossibly small crammed gym, and attempted to CHARGE people to try to use them,
the least I would try and do is ACT like I was the nicest person around, I'm not saying BE one, that's impossible in HIS case, but just try and pretend, give it a whirl, will ya?
because
crappy machines+crappy attitude, it's just a little too much to deal with.
But, if YOU can deal with:
--The lack of parking or if you just walk there, like I used to before I got kicked out for complaining about faulty equipment.
--You actually like the machines that nobody knows where they come from but the staff insists in calling them ""state of the art""
--The dissapointment when you realize there is NO ocean view anywhere in between the buildings, is more like an ocean tease of a view,
--Ocean breezes?........If you are on the top floor and the doors are open but then you also get the food smell from the restaurants downstairs.Hope you like chinese food aromatheraphy to go with your work out.
--If one of your goals, was to work out while looking at the ocean, only if you position yourself strategically on the top floor facing just the right way, you'll catch a couple of inches of far, far away ocean, or if you bring your binoculars, maybe.
and
Then you just want to make sure to keep your mouth shut about any broken/malfunctioning equipment or you might just end up being escorted off the premises too.
If you can manage the above, this might be the perfect place for you to work out
but go see for yourself, they'll give you a free tour.
I'm surprised they are still in business,
not because the place is a very expensive ($80 a month) glorified rec-room but the complete lack of customer service, starting with the OWNER
+Pros: It's clean
-Cons: lack of parking, cheap equipment and
in my experience, ZERO customer service.
