Since it's a used clothes (mostly) store the inventory can be good or bad, but I've had terrific luck here. I've gotten clothes from J. Crew, Banana Republic, Bebe, Lucky Jeans an...

My favorite place to shop in Seattle 8/1/2006

I have been shopping at Buffalo Exchange for the last 6 years, and nearly I go I find something great! They carry such a wild variety of clothes, accessories, shoes, etc. - if you're into really creating your own look, this is the place to go! They play great music, and I've always found the staff to be very helpful. I love that they're open a little later on week nights (til 8 or 9), so it's the perfect place to go after work for some retail therapy. Of course, since they have A LOT of stuff, it definitely takes some time to sort through everything there. But if you get a thrill from combing through clothing racks, you've got to check out Buffalo Exchange! Oh, and the locations in Portland and San Francisco are just as fun! more

But wait, I AM stylish...see, I'm hip... BUY MY CLOTHES!!! 5/9/2006

While I'm sure there are good clothes here, they are hard to find. Well, if you're a size small and look good in most things, then this is the place for you! But I think the saddest part of the Buffalo Exchange experience is trying to sell clothes. I know they have to make money, but they turn their noses up! Not everyone is a slave to fashion, hence the reason they sell their clothes! So it's a mixed feeling from me. more

Not for me. 3/10/2006

I cant stand Buffalo Exchange. I have some friends that LOVE it and I have some that feel the same way I do. The only items I have been able to purchase are shoes. One of my friends has the same complain that shoes are the only things she can find in this store that seem to match her needs. I have brought items to sell here and when the clerks are looking it over you feel like you are involved in some kind of popularity contest. I have instant flashbacks to high school when all the trendy popular girls would walk by, look me up and down and shake their heads in disgust. Not a good feeling. However some people LOVE it here and its worth checking it out to see if it fits your style. more

Looking for a new outfit 3/8/2006

Buffalo Exchange is great place for a girl (or guy) on a budget to shop. Sometimes you have to search through some hideous clothes, but I always find something to love. Their jeans section almost always has a few pairs of gently used, designer jeans. They also offer cash or store credit for clothes you bring in, though you have to make sure to only bring in clothes to sell that are in season—they don’t pay much (or anything) for scarves in July. more

Upscale thrift store with a decent clothes selection 3/5/2006

In my experience, the cheapest thrift store on the Ave. I've been fortunate many times to find a good pair of pants for under $10, as well as shoes, belts, and shirts for similar prices. They have a great rack of dresses that would be excellent for costumes. They have a large buying counter, but they're very specific about what kinds of clothes they're buying at any given time, and very picky. But it's worth a try, especially for store credit. more

Search and find GOLD! 12/17/2005

If you like to dig through clothes then this place has quality clothing hidden deep within their racks. People bring by their junk and sell them to this genius store who buys them for cheap. Anyones junk is someone elses treasure, maybe yours. Just bring your clothing tastebuds here and search around you are sure to strike gold. Cheap gold that is. more

great way to recycle your clothes 10/21/2005

if you want a great way to recycle your clothes, and earn some extra cash, this is it !!!!!!!! as long as they are in good condition and cute, current styles or funky hard to find items, they will usually buy them! they add up the total according to the prices they will re-sell them for, and give you either 40% of that in cash, or 55% in trade!!!!!!!!! then you either have extra cash, or "new" clothes, your choice!!!!!!!! more

Sell your clothes and find some too! 8/30/2005

Buffalo Exchange is a pretty sweet store located on the Ave near the University of Washington. It is a good place to go to sell any clothes you were going to give to the Good Will and get a little cash for them. As for buying clothes, I have only bought accessories for costumes and such, never really bought any clothes to wear on a regular basis. But then again, thrift store shopping is not really my forte! It is a tad over priced though. more

they buy your clothes, and you buy theirs 8/30/2005

I'm not really a shopaholic...but I like to sell stuff. I've sold some clothes here but I've never really bought anything there. The prices are OK, but nothing can get similar clothes brand new at stores when they go on sale. They pay OK for your clothes too...but hey, the clothes you're selling you were just going to toss anyways. more

Love it, a great place to trade in clothes 8/19/2005

Buffalo Exchange is one of the better stores in Seattle for used clothes. They have a great selection that is fairly constantly turning over, so you always see new things. The prices are very reasonable, but you can get some good things here. I even got a great Kenneth Cole watch after trading in some clothes. They also have a service to donate the clothes that you bring in if they don’t buy them from you. Worth a visit!! more

Great clothes, great price 8/15/2005

I normally eschewed the very idea of shopping second hand clothing stores. I figured they'd all have the nasty stuff like you see at Value Village. Now I'm not the most fashionable of guys, but I do have standards. One of my buddy's seemed to always be wearing cool new gear, and I knew he made even less than I do, so I asked him how he did. That's how I came to love this store. more

Buffalo Exhange 8/5/2005

This is an awesome store. I periodically clean out my closet and visit them because it is good to know that I am not just getting rid of my stuff but getting something in return. You can exchange for something that they have or get cash. It is a great store and a lot of fun to do! Next time you are cleaning out your closet you should definitely keep them in mind. more

Buy/Sell/Exchange your clothes... 7/26/2005

Buffalo Exchange is one of the most beneficial stores that allow you to buy, sell, or exchange your clothing. Its pretty neat how it works, you bring in your clothing and you can choose whether you want to exchange it for another item that is already in the store or trade it in for some cash. Its pretty much consignment, but you can find some cool fashion clothing for a bargain price. So if you need to make some extra cash or are trying to get rid of some old clothes, Buffalo Exchange is a great place to go to! more

used clothes in U District 6/30/2005

This is a pretty good place to look for used clothes in the University District, and you can also sell your old clothes here for trade or store credit. They won't take everything you bring in, but you can donate what you don't want to a theatre group or something. The prices are sometimes a little high, but they have a pretty good selection. more
