Do Not Go Here for BMW Parts!
This past Thursday I ordered a Suspension Airbag for my BMW X5. $209.09 I specifically told the Parts ""Specialist"", it was for the Driver's side Rear! Great..., they will have it for me in 2 hrs! Without wheels to get there, it's across town off of Roswell Road in Sandy Springs/ Buckhead, I had to ask my good friend who lives up the street to pick up the part after she picks up her son from daycare. She was on time, but I had feared they would close before she got there so I called ahead of her and asked if they would mind waiting ""if she ran 5 minutes late"". After all this was Friday, and they wouldn't be open until the following Monday. The response I got was, ""We want to go home too"". OK... fine I said...thanks anyway! Well, luckily she got there with 5 minutes to spare. I got the part from her that night and spent the next 2 hours removing the old air bag. Very complex, but do-able! After trying to fit the new bag in for 15 mins, I ultimately learned that it was for the ""Passenger Side""! So, now despite trying, I'll be without my vehicle for the entire weekend. The following Monday morning I call the Parts Dpt to notify them of their ""error"", and I get...""Oh, I THOUGHT I ordered the wrong side!! I guess I should have written I down when you called!!?? I responded, ""Of course you should have! Now I'm having to deal with the inconvenience of not having my vehicle the entire weekend! (I'm a contractor, and usually go on estimates on the weekends). I then asked if there is a way I could be compensated for my time and aggravation. He then replied, ""I doubt it, but I'll ask and I'll let you know."" OK, fine enough I thought. So now it's Monday, and I had to wait till 5pm to borrow a friend's car to go back up to Sandy Springs and at the worst time possible for traffic! So I once again, call ahead and state that I'm stuck in traffic and may be there right at 6pm. I get attitude from the parts salesman, ""We don't want to have to stay here later than we need to!"" My reply, ""I didn't want to have to come here twice for your mistake either!"" So I get there 5 mins till 6, and I'm greeted by the clerk at the door, ready to make the exchange. He hurriedly shoves the new box in my face and takes the old one from me. I then ask about the results of the discount. To that I was told, ""We can't...we don't make enough money to give you anything off."" So from the front of the store I ask to speak to the manager. I'm told that he's not here and that there's nothing he can do either! Bye! So there it is! I'm more frustrated with the fact that they didn't offer me anything at all! Not even a 10% off coupon off of my next order. I feel like in this economy, we need to give the best customer service and referrals possible in order to keep business coming through the doors. Bottom line, I will order my parts on-line from now on. I'll get better pricing and hopefully better customer service! David, BMW X-5 4.4
