Fathers Day !! 6/22/2009

Fathers Day .. my boyfriend and I decided to take my boss's (who are restaurant owners) out for a meal. we decided on B&C as they love steak and we thought this was the best as we have eaten many times before ... we knew the place would be mobbed and so booked a reservation for 8pm. On arrival we were right the restaurant had started to clear out. We were seated immediately ,, we were asked if we needed drinks right away .. and they arrived promptly which is more than we could say for the water we sat there with empty glasses for over 15 minutes yet the dining room was filled with waiters and busboys . We order the seafood platter to share as an app. it came and was wonderful an array of oysters, clams, lump crab and lobster ..,,, very expensive but was worth it . we then had porter house for 4 ... which I must say the meat was not up to the usual standard.... however the cream spinach was as always delicious ... the cottage fries however we so hard we almost broke our teeth. NOT once throughout this whole meal did the waiter come to ask if everything was OK ... in fact we had to bed a busboy for more water after holding an empty glass in the air for 15 mins. We did see our waiter however he was standing in the corner calculating his tips for the day. we ordered dessert and coffee and this is when the biggest NO NO in my book happened .... as soon as the dessert was placed on the table before we even tasted a morsel or sipped our coffee we were presented with the check .With a check for 4 people over $400 not including the tip one would expect much better service and not to be rushed out of there like that ,,,, We all agreed that next time we want a real good steak it would be worth the trip to go to Rothmans instead .... very sad very sad but I guess when you pack a restaurant like that you tend to think of the dollars not the customers ... so sorry B& C you lost 4 Pros: drinks came fast Cons: very bad service more

Superb Dining Experience 1/8/2007

We had dinner here on January 6, 2007. The whole experience was first class. The drinks were great. Our martinis were just the right size, not in those overly large sloppy glasses, and expertly blended. We started out with clams casino, maybe a little pricey at $11.00, but made with just the right amount of peppers and bacon and they tasted great. My wife had a shrimp special, stuffed with crabmeat -8 jumbo shrimp and she loved it. I enjoyed the prime rib off the bone, perfectly cooked medium rare. For sides we had Lyonnaise potatoes and a terrific dish of snap peas and mushrooms with olive oil and a hint of garlic. Dessert consisted of an assortment of berries with whipped cream and a side of raspberry gelato accompanied by a Stinger and a Rob Roy. Service was friendly and professional. The place was packed. The bar was packed. Everyone seemed to be having a great time. Nice seating and decor. All in all, one of the best steak houses I have ever gone to. Pros: they do everything very well, great service, perfect cocktails Cons: very crowded more

Here's the beef!!!!!!!!! 1/3/2003

Peter Luger who??????? For my money, this is the best. The slightly crusty waiters are no worse than at Lugers, probably nicer. A REAL steakhouse, where, at least for now, you can enjoy a cigar at the bar....... Pros: Large bar, cigar friendly, on site butcher Cons: always crowded, semi-crusty waiters more
