Romantic Italian Restaurant by the Canal 9/21/2010

This restaurant is located in the corner of a litlle shopping strip, but the inside has been remodeled and it has a beautiful glassed garden room overlooking the canal. Very nice place for a romantic dinner, birthday or special occasion. Great for business lunches and dinners. We came in and tried the steaks. OMG, they were the best. Thick cut and cooked perfectly. The pasta dishes are very good and not swimming in butter or cheese. They have a very good wine selection, and the wait staff is always very profesional. A plus is that they also take reservations for lunch and dinner. more

Excellent food, reasonably priced, quiet atmosphere, located adjacent to walking trails along canal 1/29/2009

An excellent choice for quiet conversation, flavorful Italian at a reasonable price. Walking trails along the canal adjacent to the restaurant provide a great after dinner activity with someone special. more

Absolutely a gem of a restaurant !!! 11/1/2008

This was my first visit for an early dinner, and I was so impressed upon walking in. You enter through the bar into a lovely dining area (2 separate rooms) with Mustard colored walls, mahogany chairs, white tablecloths, etc., onto a beautiful atrium (glassed in patio area) overlooking a Canal, with a lovely landscaped walking path, lighting at night. Floor to ceiling wide windows with a soothing, peaceful view of flowing water in the canal. OMG, AWESOME! I started with a glass of house Merlot, and wonderful warm, soft bread with creamy butter. The menu is so varied; great appetizers, salads, pastas, veal, chicken, fish options; so much to choose from. My house salad had the most wonderful house dressing; a tomato based, with olive oil and basil....so light, fragrant, the color of a Catalina dressing you buy at the grocery, but so flavorful and not overwhelming. My difficult choice of an entree' ultimately was the Lobster Ravioli....what a great choice. 4 Large Raviolis with Lobster chunks, and a creamy tomato cream sauce, great for dipping the warm bread served. Also, couldn't resist ordering a side of Angel Hair Pasta with Marina Sauce...way too much food, but had to try it all. Of course, have a LOT for meals tomorrow (and maybe Sunday) but it was worth the expense. This is not your typical inexpensive ""spaghetti & meatballs"" Italian restaurant, but well worth the investment for quality and quantity of food and ambience. Roxi was my server, and deserves a ""10"" for her delivery of attention. Unobrusive, but there when you needed her. There are so many enticing items on the menu I want to try...how many times can one eat out each week? This is a great place for an important business lunch, a girl's night out, or that very special SO or spouse night out, or group events, i.e. birthday's, anniversarys, etc. Whenever you go, make sure you ask for seating on the patio; even call ahead for reservations ; patio seating is a MUST. Can't wait to go back! Pros: Food, Service, Ambience, Value more

open all day for superior casual dining experience! and the food and staff have no ""off"" hours 1/5/2007

We love Italian, we love Italian-American. This is the best of both. The seafood was plump, fresh, and not overcooked, and the sauces for the appetizers - Shrimp Scampi and Mussels Marinara - were so good, we unabashedly kept the sauces for bread and the server wasn't surprised - we must not be the only patrons to have done so! The bread and oil and vinegar were superb and hearty - real garlic and torn fresh basil in the bowl. Its all about flavor here without the pretension. However, unlike some ""Italian"" chains - the food is not swimming in cheese and thick cornstarch-y sauces. Again - this places is all about the flavor. Get a bottle of the Chianti Reserve - pops right out of itself when paired with the garlic and seafood! Oh - and the service and food quality is top-notch. We showed up, at 2:45, 1 1/2 yr old child in tow, and the ONLY people in the restaurant - no one batted an eye and they treated us as if we had been going there for years! We loved it! Pros: Service, Hours, FOOD! more
