Alaska is Rafaels home, but he was born and raised in Poland where his father was in a stone fabrication business. So for as long as he can remember stone has been central to his life. Rafael was barely a teen when began cutting blocks of granite. Within few years he was shaping and polishing the surfaces. Rafael explains that these old-world craftsmanship skills, handed down from father to son has bred in him a deep understanding and respect for the integrity of the stone. Natural stone is a part of his DNA.Thirteen years ago, Rafael emigrated from Eastern Europe to Alaska and he loved the state immediately. He loved the outdoor life and the entrepreneurial, frontier spirit and he immediately put down roots. He had married an Alaskan and he is now father to two lovely Alaskan daughters. He resolved to continue in the occupation he knew and loved but he started small. Like so many start-up businesses, his first storefront was in his 500 square foot shop. The business thrived and flourished until now Rafael operates out of 4,000 shop/showroom . He fabricates countertops with top-of-the-line computerized-precision equipment and displays the most extensive inventory in the state. Granite, marble, quartz, travertine in a wide variety of colors and texture. Almost 95% of the customers who come to his shop end up doing business with him.
