Too expensive and not really that good. Everybody raves about this place, so maybe it was the day I went. I don't really know if I'd try it again.

Food bad, tea good 7/27/2007

I just moved to Denver in May. I went to college at Wake Forest (we'll miss you Coach Prosser) and after college I stayed in the area up until just recently. We really have some great BBQ places around there if anybody wants to try the real thing--as in open pit BBQ where they cook with real fire and smoke. Anyhoo, I tried Famous Dave's out here and that really sucked, so someone in the office told me to go to Brothers. The guy in the office was talkin' them up big time, and I was let down in a major way. The chicken was dryer than sawdust and the potato salad was just nasty. This place would go out of business in North Carolina. The guy in the office told me to try something else next time, but I'm going to try a couple of other places first. If anyone knows of a really good BBQ place in this town please post it here so that the true BBQ lovers that are new to the area will know where to go. I do have to say though, they did have some awesome tea. I guess people here call it sweet tea, but this does seem to be the only place to find it out here. I have stopped by a couple of times just for the tea! If anyone knows of any other places in Denver that serve some decent tea please post that too. Pros: the tea was good, the decorations were cool Cons: chicken was dry, potato salad was bad more

Maybe I missed something... 10/8/2006

I went to Brother's based on several recommendations and I left wondering what I had missed. My BBQ chicken sandwich was small, overpriced, and filled with little pieces of bone as if they hacked into a whole chicken with reckless abandon. It was disgusting. Then they charged me extra for a couple of pickle slices without even advising me that they would cost extra. I'm not sure what I thought of the sauce because I was so grossed out by the little pieces of bone that I kept picking out of my sandwich. Yuck. I can think of 100 places I'd rather spend my $10. more

Hey Bro, Get Some Help 1/14/2006

We placed a carry out for some BBQ before the Broncos/Pats game. When we arrived, the food was not ready. It wasn't ready 30 minutes later, either. They kept promising us it would be out in a minute. When the bag finally did come out, about 45 minutes late, they had run out of ribs. It was 6:30 PM! When we took our order home, the salad didn't even have dressing on it and was inedible. No wonder the counter help was hiding in the back. I can only guess everyone quit that night to go home and watch the game. We missed the whole first quarter, maybe they didn't. more

Until You Have Brothers, You Haven't Had BBQ! 11/21/2005

I lived in the south for 11 years and I ate a lot of barbecue, but NONE of it was ever as good as Brothers BBQ. Their sauce is so incredible, I swear I could drink it. I am not a bean lover, but their beans are addictive. I don't order ribs at most barbecue joints because they are usually very fatty and have way too much sauce on them-- not Brothers!! Their ribs are so good, I end up gnawing on the bones wishing I had more!! The meat is always perfect and wonderful-- crispy and tender and smoky just like barbecue is supposed to be. Brothers is simply the best!! more

Best in Denver by far! 8/9/2005

I am a BBQ freak and the only place I eat BBQ in Denver is Brother's BBQ. I have had Q in K.C., Memphis,Texas, North Carolina, Alabama, Georgia and everywhere in the South and Midwest. Basically I know my 'cue. Besides the great food (ribs especially) the staff is always friendly and helpful. I've never had to wait long for my food and the place is always clean. I always bring all my friends and guests to one of the brothers locations when they come and visit. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Pros: GREAT FOOD, SERVICE, CLEAN more

best bbq in town 8/8/2005

I had Brohters cater a party and EVERYONE loved it! The food was delicious and tasted just like home made! more

Horrible!! BBQ 7/25/2005

Few places can actually make spare ribs both over-cooked and under-cooked on the same rib. I'd guess they were wrapped in foil so long the under-cooked ribs steamed to make mush out of the outer meat. And the beans - tasted like disount canned Ranch beans with a bottle of hot sauce dumped in - no more. And the slaw, well - just don't go there. Pros: clean Cons: food, quality, "BBQ" more

You've got to be kidding me 7/24/2005

The only thing worse than the service was the food. Anyone who truly knows BBQ would not recommend any of the Brothers BBQ restaurants. more

Brother's BBQ 2/28/2004

My wife and I went to Brother's BBQ in Denver last night and I have to say, we were both very dissappointed. The staff is fairly nice and responsive. The menu is limited with not many vegetable dishes to compliment the meal. The dinnerware consists of styrofoam plates and plastic ware. One of the plates cracked as I was walking it to our table. I didn't care for the original bbq sauce at all. It had way too much vinegar and hardly any flavor. The beans were too tangy, the potato salad tasted like we got it at King Soopers. The Cole slaw was bland and the french fries were soggy and over salted. The Brisket was dry. The only redeeming quality was that the ribs were tender and flavorful. I would not recommend this place and will not return. Pros: good ribs more

Tangy & lap-your-plate good 11/3/2003

Though the service in the new location (off Arapahoe) is a bit slow and uninspired, and the fact that the entrance road is hard to navigate, the BBQ sauces are magnificent. I think literally anything touched by those sauces would taste fabulous. There's not a restaurant in town (maybe elsewhere) that can touch the BBQ sauces. Hands-down the best. If they tightened up service a bit, the city would have to re-do the traffic system off Arapahoe b/c there would be too much action heading into Brothers. Pros: BBQ sauces, Iced tea & Lemonade, BBQ sauces to-go Cons: Hard to get to, Listless service more

simply the best 2/3/2003

Best ribs in town, they're meaty and the only ribs that taste great even w/o any bbq sauce. Service is always freindly. more

OMG Brothers is the BEST! 2/2/2003

Best BBQ ever. Period! Food is great. The People are great. Nothing more to be said. more

KC Girl loves the Brothers Q! 2/2/2003

Coming from Kansas City, I have high expectations of how real bbq should taste. Brothers BBQ definitely surpassed and then some. Besides having great atmosphere at all three locations (including two awesome real-life brothers), the food rocks! The succulent ribs pair well with the coleslaw, and the secret ingredients in the sauce for the pulled pork make for a divine combination when accompanied with the meat. Every time I visit a location it is truly a unique experience. Selfishly I admit the Monaco and Leetsdale location is my favorite as that is where it all began. Anyone not taking a chance on the brothers clearly do not understand what they are missing! By far the best bbq this side of the Rocky Mountains. Pros: Great Ribs, Awesome Pork, Stellar Beef more

I have had BBQ from everywhere here in the US - from north to south and east to west... These guys got it right, I mean right on the money!!! From the tangy sauces to the tender meats, not to mention the sides that equal the quality of the meats - well, you gotta try them... Nothing beats these guys, nothing... If you want a cool swanky, fun place to have great food with a personal touch - this is it... From the ribs to the chicken and everything in between, your mouth will water for more!!! No ""chain"" food served here!!! Pros: great food!, great people!, great price! Cons: not enough of them! more

Something in my Teeth 2/1/2003

This is it!! I have been eating at Brother's since the day they opened. I loved it back then and I love it more now than ever. I have been to many places around colorado and although some are good, they don't come close to brothers. The Ribs peel off the bone. They are soo tender, that you just can't stop eating them. The beef brisket is delicious, especially with a side of coleslaw. The pork shoulder is tender and juicy, and the vinegar sauce just enhances the flavor to the max. Put some coleslaw on top of it and you are in heaven. I always get out of their restaurant with a big smile and a handful of toothpicks!!! more

It's not KC BBQ... 1/9/2003

The BBQ at Brother's was decent at best. It will satisfy the BBQ cravings of most indiscriminate eaters. However, for the real BBQ connoisseurs, it will not suffice. The bottom line is that Brothers BBQ is not KC BBQ (i.e. Boss Hawg's (Topeka, KS), Gates, or Arthur Bryants). more
