When this place first opened a couple of years ago it was first class steakhouse likes of which not seen on the south shore of long island. On a recent visit, there is a air of desperation. They have discontinued their fabulous sushi bar, one of things that made b&p special. They had a god awful singer on a keyboard playing to the bar crowd who was loud and off key. It was a conversation killer at our table. Granted, the steaks are still first rate, but they are losing that elegance and sophistication that they started with. For a Friday night, they were half empty and yet the service was exceptionally slow. For this kind of $$$$', I expect more than a singles scene karaoke bar! B&p must regroup and get their act together, if they want to stay relevant because there are so many better choices on the north shore.
