Good lunch but NEVER going back for dinner. 3/8/2010

Good: GREAT Lunch special!. Bad: I am a regular customer for the broker restaurant- big fan of prime rib lunch special. Also been there for dinner before and this time, I learned that they are not as they used to be. As a frequent customer, I went to the broker restaurant for 5280 restaurant week with my friends. Prior to the visit, my friend called and confirmed that the bottomless shrimp bowl comes with 5280 deal and learned that it was not a part of 5280 at the table. We were upset especially when they did not even apologize for their. Improvements: I wish their manager knows such a thing as customer service, such as at least apologizing for their mistake.. Other: NEVER GOING BACK FOR DINNER EVER AGAIN and NEVER recommending for any of my friends/relatives for dinner!!. more

Slightly strange 4/5/2006

I took clients to dine at the Broker, because I was on an expense account at the time. I wouldn't be able to afford it, out of my own pocket! It was a little strange, in that the only thing there you can get is a full meal with all the fixings: there is no such thing as a little bite or just a salad. There was a vegetarian in my party, and it was a bit difficult for her to find something on the menu she could eat. It's rather old-fashioned that way (and indeed, the decor is also on the stodgy side). The bowl of all-you-can eat shrimp is quite special, though. I would go back again, if it were on the company dime. If it's my money, though, I'd choose another restaurant. more

Absolute Decadence! 2/16/2006

The Broker is where you go for a celebration! It's pricey, but so classy! Even their gift certificates come packaged as gold bars--it's so elegant! The downtown location is a converted bank and they actually have tables in the old vault--my particular favorite place to dine. The service is impeccable--you'll never feel rushed or bothered. The waitstaff is wine and food knowledgeable and they answer questions graciously and informatively. I've never had a bad entrée there and their shrimp platter is of course legendary!! Yum, yum. Bring your wallet, for sure, but it'll be worth it! more

Nice Atmosphere, Good Shrimp! 2/10/2006

I was not very impressed with the food at The Broker, especially for the price. It is very expensive and the food really isn't that great. The only redeeming quality about the food is the huge shrimp bowl you get at the beginning of the meal. The atmosphere is pretty cool, especially if you get a chance to sit in the vault! more

Good lunch spot downtown 1/23/2006

I think that the Broker downtown is one of the undiscovered lunch spots. They have an upscale sit down dining atmosphere without upscale prices. There are at least a dozen items on the lunch menu for less than seven dollars. You can also eat in the old vault of the original bank.. Very interesting atmosphere. You can of course spend more if you want to do so. more
