Best

Warm cafe atmosphere, service is good, they do have art on the walls to purchase, which makes the place...

Worst

This is a pretentious upscale place next to a university --- talk about bad location. To top it off, the food isn't that great either, and the portions are very small. An omelette...

Amazing food as well as great service! 2/12/2008

I can't believe some of these reviews! People just must not know good food when they come across it! The menu here changes with the seasons, so you are guaranteed the freshest ingredients! What more can you ask for! Yes some things may take longer to prepare then others, but they have a wood burning oven that slowly cooks meat to perfection! Well worth the wait! I would much rather wait a little while longer and enjoy a nice glass of wine (the wine list is amazing as well), then feel rushed and pushed out the door! If you want fast, unfriendly service, don't dine here because it is for sure an excellent dining experience! more

Unique Experience 9/17/2006

I am a regular at this quaint cafe and I have no complaints. Those who say the menu is "stunted" I believe doesn't know a good menu when they see one. With breakfast ranging from a Britta's Beny (an eggs benedict with avocado and tomato instead of Canadian bacon) to house made raisin walnut french toast with sliced bananas I would say that the menu is quite expansive. They use only the freshest of ingrediants and I have to add they actually use REAL maple syrup rathe than the cheap kind from IHOP. Parking in my opinon is just fine and if its not right in the front the 1 minute walk won't kill you. more

Yummy and nice 3/14/2006

Wow, I was really surprised by the other reviews. I've always really liked eating at Britta's! I especially like their brunch and lunch menus. The food is fresh, and seasonal. It is kinda pricey, but it's a pretty setting and I've always found the food very tasty. more

Small portions, overpriced 9/26/2005

This is a pretentious upscale place next to a university --- talk about bad location. To top it off, the food isn't that great either, and the portions are very small. An omelette costs approx $8, and three small crab cakes will set you back $13. The atmosphere sucks too because its empty most of the time. more

Fancy but nothing else 9/23/2005

Britta's Caffe is located in the deep heart of Irvine University Center across from the University of California of Irvine. The food here is typical of most post-modern French/American cuisine. One or two good dishes. However the price is up there and locating this venue is a task in itself. Ok. Parking is adequate. more

Eh. 8/10/2005

I found my bug in my orange juice. The food was still good. more

Bad, very bad 4/18/2005

I hate to bash a restaurant, but if you are ever in Irvine, do not waste your money here. It lures people in by the nice decor and patio, but the service is terrible and the menu is stunted. The waitress both times I went (the second time was not my choice) was rude and slow, and the food was definitely not worth the high prices. The only draw is there are few customers, but that may be for a reason. more
