Since April 2012, Good tenants leaving, increase in vandalism and eviction notices. 8/8/2012

We would have rated this apartment five stars prior to January of this year. Management under Nachele has changed a lot of things in only four months. The good tenants seem to be vacating and vandalism and eviction notices are increasing since April, 2012. Today, there were eviction notices on 4 out of 10 doors in our hallway. The gate has been damaged or completely torn off just about every week. We have been hearing a lot more loud parties, fights, etc. Hidden fees are frustrating to anyone. Hidden fees in excess of $100/month is inexcusable. We had no fees for the last year under the former management. Now we have hundreds of dollars in fees in four months since the arrival of Nachele. Most the freebies have been removed or fees have been added to them. Management communicates primarily through 3-day eviction notices which they tape to your front door. Even if you have paid rent more than a month in advance. If there is a $5 fee they can catch you with, they just put an eviction notice up on your front door. Ten days later, it will have increased every day to $100. One month later, it will have increased to $300. Of course it is not enforceable if you truly have paid rent. It is just very annoying. You will get new notices every day until you pay the fees. No one can force you to leave in three days for these unpaid fees only. They have to take you to court. The train noises are okay sometimes. But at least once every night there is one with a high shrill that gives an immediate piercing headache. The grounds are kept up and the pool area is nice. The hallway has a bad odor sometimes and there are stains on the carpet where there was a water leak soaking the carpet. The vents are filthy. Trash bins overflow to all over the ground. Prior management was pleasant and communicated clearly. We do not plan to renew our lease under Nachele's management. more

Upside down outlets 1/4/2011

This is not a mistake.. It is now code in both commercial and multi-residental building. it is safer to have the ground on top so that if something metal should fall between the plug it doesn't short things out... I seen it happen with a cat toy. It almost killed my cat and caused a fire. I dont live at these apartments but they should actually be commended for the upside down plugs. :) more

Thought it was a great place to live! 9/20/2010

Good: The management staff was great! Ya they might not get everything fixed right away but they are fixing them. The apartments are amazing everything inside is upgraded, while searching for an apartment down town nothing compared to these. My neighbors were great and you're still close to everything.. Bad: The area isn't the best in salt lake but it isn't too bad. People don't tend to pick up their pets waste but I don't blame that on the complex they have an area designated for pets.. Improvements: I would like to see the complex fully gated, and the field fixed/grassed.... Other: Overall a great place to live friendly staff and neighbors. more

Can't wait to leave 9/17/2010

Every night there are loud mouths hopping the fence and partying at the hot tub. You can't sleep. The layout means it echos and wakes everyone up. Someone yells "shut up" and they cuss back and it never stops. I can't wait until my lease is up so I can find a place and get a good nights sleep. Management doesn't care about the problem. more

Current Resident- Will not renew 7/22/2010

Good: I liked the fact that I was the first person to move into the apartment, that it was close to down town SLC, and that the interior had nice counters, cabinets, floor etc... it is new. I liked that they were suppose to put in grass and a fence around the buildings and I thought the $900+ a month rent would keep out the riff raff. Bad: Walls are paper thin, you hear every train that passes like you were on the track (they rattle the buildings). Service sucks, trash bins are way too small for the building and never emptied. Front door to buildings are always broken. Half the complex has a gate around it but the other half is completely open so drug dealers and transients just walk around. They were suppose to put grass on the side of the building but it still remains an empty field full of used needles and dog poop with no fence. Improvements: - Finish the gate around the building - Add residents names to the call box in front building and make it work - Add more dumpsters or empty them more often - Have someone walk around the building and enforce covenants and boot residence who don't abide. - Hire a property manager that has a clue and follows up on things - Clean up the walls that still have construction dust all over after being built over a year ago - Tow cars that park in the driveway of the front building or int he handicap spots. Other: When I moved in I wrote down on the move in sheet that the sliding door would not close or lock and Che**** in the front office said "hmm... that is funny, you are like the 5th person to move in that has a sliding door that will not close." They have yet to even ask about repairing it. Every single outlet in my apartment is installed upside down.. not a big deal as they all work but what kind of lame builders put in outlet boxes upside down? Crap is left in halls with no property management enforcement. more

My car got stolen here 6/21/2010

Good: New, units are nice, nice pool area. Bad: The crime in the building, the gangsters that hang out at the parking lot, the drug dealers, and the robbers, rampant prostitution. Improvements: Increased security, better placement of security cameras, better security guards, staff that cares about security concerns.. Other: My car got stolen from the visitor's parking lot at this place. I was visiting my friend who lives there and when I went out to get my car, it was gone. The security cameras are worthless, they didn't capture what happened. I hate this place and unless you wanna get robbed, I advice you don't go near it, let alone live in it! I have lived in SLC for 10 years and this is the first crime activity I have ever had to deal with. And BTW,another friend got jumped and beaten in the parking lot too.. more
