I had a very similar experience to the latest reviewer. I FINALLY received my dress AFTER the event. \r \r I ordered my dress, and then months passed - never heard anything from the store. Called them, and was told that it would be in on Wednesday. Wednesday would come and go, and no dress would be there. I would call again, get the same answer. This went on for weeks. Finally I gave up - I went out and bought a new dress. Three weeks after the event date, I received a call stating my dress was there. I never picked it up because I had no need for it by that time.\r \r This would be a great place to order a dress if your event is 12 months away. Do not trust these idiots to get your dress to you in time if the wedding or event is only 6 months away.\r \r Good luck. You'll need it with this place!!! My family has ordered several dresses from the Bridesmaids Store over the past few years with no major problems, but this most recent experience has cost them any future business from my family.\r We placed an order for 2 dresses in mid-March, paid 50% upfront, and paid an extra fee to have them ""rush delivered"", as they were needed for my brother's wedding in the end of June. We were told they would arrive in 6 weeks. 8 weeks later, no dresses. So we called to check the status, and they were still in production. When we pointed out to the girl that we had paid for RUSH delivery, her helpful response was ""Sorry, we don't have any record of that."" When I said that we did on our receipt, she went to speak to the manager, and said that the extra money on the receipt was because one of the dresses was an 18. ?!?!? We were NEVER told that there was an extra charge to order a dress in an 18. I believe that they SCREWED UP , didn't place the order with a RUSH status, and tried to cover their mistake. All they did was insult our intelligence and make themselves look unorganized and unprofessional by not owning their mistake. So, after paying $170+ for her dress, my mom got to go out and spend another $150 at another store because, 14 weeks after placing the order, her dress still had not arrived and she needed to buy a replacement dress for my brother's wedding.\r So, my mother goes in today to pick up her grossly overdue dress. The sales girl cannot find any record of it. When my mom shows her the receipt, the sales girl goes back to the manager, comes back from the back, walks past my mother, PULLS A DRESS OFF THE RACK, takes it to the back and wraps it up. When she brings it to the front, my mother questioned her if that's the same dress she just pulled off the rack. The girl says no. My mom asks why the dress has NO TAGS ON IT, and the girl responds that they must have fallen off during shipment.\r Do these people really believe that their customers are that freaking stupid?!?!?!?! Assuming that this dress has been repeatedly tried on, they charged my family $170+ for a used dress.\r I am so disgusted with these people right now that I can't even see straight. But the best way to get through to them is to tell people about this experience and caution them to avoid giving this ""business"" any money. I went to the bridesmaid store for my bridal and bridesmaid's. I found my Wtoo bridal gown here for almost half the price as serendipity, The sales girl was very friendly and helping me pick a complimentary bridesmaid dress as well, She helped me find th eperfect color I had been searching for and several designs that came in that color. Their prices are great and I have been very impressed with the customer service here! Just got the bridesmaid's in and they are beautiful. I also found a dress for a cruise on the clearance rack for $5!!!! I would hightly reccomend this store to anyone! Pros: Prices, Friendly, Great selection more

These ladies are so helpful and handled my dress ""nightmare"". I bought a dress from another location that had snags in it and Sasha who is superb worked her magic and removed all the snags even two that I did not see! She helped me with the fitting and made recommendations for my alterations so my dress would fit perfectly. The provide good advice and helped me even though if was almost their closing time. That is real service not too many businesses have today. The Bridesmaids Store is my shop my place for formal wear. Pros: excellent service more

After reading the reviews i was a bit skeptical about going here but they had the best price on the brand of dresses I wanted. Im so glad i did because they were super friendly and vey helpful, got my dresses and they are beautiful, they have so many designers here it was a bit overwelming at first, i didnt know where to start. I recently bought a bridesmaid dress here. When I sent in my measurements they called and said that I was between 2 sizes so they recommended the larger one. I believed them, and paid in full in advance. I just got the dress and it's at least 2 sizes too large on top and 1 size to large everywhere else. The alterations to resize the dress would cost more than buying another one. Their service was fine, just make sure you know your size before you order. more

I went with my bridesmaids during the week and it was great, They are busy on saturdays so it is better to make an appointment but they squeezed me in even though I didnt have one, The staff was super friendly and helpful and helped me find the perfect dress! It came right on time, plus it was way cheaper than every where else i looked. I would totally reccomend this store to anyone looking for a great deal on a bridal or bridesmaid dress. I got my dress here and LOVE it. They measured me at a size 8 which seemed pretty spot on for me. When I got it, it was a pretty loose and I asked if I should've gotten a 6. She said if I had gotten a 6, it might've been too tight. That's not what I'm worried about... it will work just find with alterations, which I would've need anyways in the length.\r \r What I'm kind of worried about is... I had my house party order dresses from here. They are my younger cousins, 17 and 14. They are a normal sized girls, not skinny but not big either. They measured them at a 10! I'm an 8 and they are close to my size. If anything they should've gotten an 8 or even a 6. The dresses should come in soon, and I guess we'll see how it turns out then... but, they can alter them, I just hope they don't have to spend a fortune altering them. I went to the store with my bridesmaids and what an awful experience. I have 1 bridesmaid that is a little large and they only had about 6 dresses that she could try on. The clerk told me that whatever dress we chose they can make her size, but she would be required to put half down to order the dress. I asked the attendant that I didn?t? want my friend to purchase a dress that may not look good on her. I asked the clerk why all the dresses are size 4 to 12 and she said that they are sample dresses from the vendors. I told the clerk that they discriminate against larger women. The store should at least order 30 dresses in larger sizes for the plus size bridesmaid. The store said that they would not do that because they would have to pay for the dress. After this experience I decided to go to Alfred Angelo and they had a wide variety of sizes for all women. \r \r I will never recommend the Bridesmaids store to anyone. I came here when i was searching for a wedding dress. I ended up trying on a few different dresses from their sale area as well as the normal price gowns. They had a really good selection of designer dresses, as well as designer dresses that were half price or really cheap. For example, my dress was normally in the 1,000 range and I got it here for $400! It only needed to be hemmed, and the sash was my color. They also have a staggering number of bridesmaid dresses in stock. They order most of their dresses (thats how it is at all stores) so if you are looking to get married start looking 6 to 9 months in advance so you can order the ones you need. Service was friendly- they didnt hover. I would strongly reccomend buying a dress from here versus another store. Plus - David's Bridal is cheap fabric and cheap dresses. I am a little surprised by all the negative reviews I have read. So far my experience with this store in picking out my bridesmaid dresses has been good. My sales assistant, Rosie, has been very nice, patient and helpful. During my appointment, she checked on me frequently, looked up prices, brought me color sample books, and found me sample dresses in the different colors I liked so I could compare them (instead of relying on the 1-inch swatches). She also encouraged me to try on the dresses, which I wouldn't have done otherwise, and it was very helpful because I got a much better sense of how flattering different fabrics were. Since my appointment, she has been great about setting up the ordering process and giving me very detailed information to pass on to my bridesmaids. The one complaint I have about the store is that the dress racks are arranged by color, not designer or style, which is very confusing -- especially since the standard advice when you start browsing the sample dresses is ""Don't look at color, just look at the styles."" It was helpful for me to have done a lot of online browsing of designers websites so I knew the styles I was interested in -- then the sales assistant located them for me in the store. The other thing that is a little irritating is that they have never once answered the phone when I call them -- but, they always call me back that same day when I leave a message, so it hasn't been a barrier. Save yourself time and frustration. Do NOT go here! I had planned on going to the bridesmaid store to look for a wedding gown.\r \r I arrived a few minutes before 11am for my 11am bridal appointment and waited outside until another person walked in ahead of me- I later realized that person worked at the store, but I had thought it was a customer. Assuming that meant the shop was now open, I walked in and was ?greeted? by a very rude saleswoman (I do not know her name, but I know she has worked there for quite some time; she is tall with dark brown hair, slim. I believe her name is Amanda). She said, ?We are NOT open,? and stared at me like I should get out of the store. I said, ?I?m sorry, I thought it was 11am.? She responded by saying, ?NO, it?s 10:58, we are NOT open.? I went ahead and sat down on the couch to wait 2 whole minutes, and 2 other customers were walking up to the store. As they were about to come in, the same girl heaved a huge sigh and said, ?this is why I should keep the door locked,? in a very annoyed tone. I was shocked that she was so rude and was so disrespectful with myself, a customer, sitting right there to hear her comment. I almost walked out right then and there.\r \r Most stores would appreciate that a customer is on time for an appointment, or even (gasp!) a whole 2 minutes early. However, this store is obviously so unprepared and disorganized that it cannot handle opening their store until they are ready to do so.\r \r Please do NOT waste your time. They have very few bridal gowns and nothing that you cannot find for less money and better service at David's Bridal. I went to a big sale the store had and bought 5 bridesmaids dresses and a mother of the bride's dress for around 200 dollars total. It was buy one get one free. I love the dresses and totally recommend finding out when that sale is. The sale would be great for prom dresses, formals, or any event where you need one unique dress. I went to the store with my friend, the bride, and was happy with what I found. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and ready to help, the prices were great, and they had the biggest selection of bridesmaid dresses I've seen. The process was easy - get measured, pay, and pick up the dress. The owner also goes out of her way to answer any questions you may have about sizing or ordering. But if you are going on Saturday MAKE AN APPOINTMENT - it got a little hectic. Still, you will get a great deal without any hassle. And for those looking for bridal gowns, my friend purchased hers there and the prices and ease of ordering were the same. They have great designers - Paloma Blanca, James Clifford, Maggie Sottero - for good prices. The fitting rooms were also nice sized. I purchased my wedding gown from the Bridesmaids store. They measured me and told me they were going to order a size 16. I usually wear a 10 or 12 in regular clothes, and I told the lady and she said wedding dress sizes are completely different and to disregard what size I normally wear. I believed her since I have no experience buying wedding gowns. When the gown came in, it was GIANT, almost nine inches too wide. The lady just kind of giggled and said the person doing alterations could fix it, they wont let you send back a wedding dress (even though we paid over $1500 for it.) We asked where to go for alterations. They gave me a handwritten list of three names. An employee of the bridesmaids store recommended one of the ladies on the list because she had used her in the past and said she did great. Of course I went to that person because she was personally recommended by an employee. The alteration lady was AWFUL. She smoked in her house and was so rude. She made the bottom of my dress uneven, could never fit it to me, ripped lace on my dress while beading it, and had no idea how to tie a sash on my dress. When I brought in my aunt, a professional seamstress (she does not live in Austin or I would have used her), to show her how to tie the sash the ""seamstress"" went crazy. She screamed in her face and told us to get the ""hell out of my house."" She then tried to keep working on my dress. I of course left. When we told the owner of the bridesmaids store about this incident, she pretty much shrugged and said too bad, we told her we thought she should pay for what we lost going to the crazy lady, and she couldnt care less. She offered to make a call to get us a different appointment elsewhere, but we went ahead and found our own person to fix my dress who did saved it. We have now spent over $700 on alterations, because the Bridesmaids store could not order an appropriate sized dress or send us to a competent seamstress. Awful customer service, awful store. Me and my mom had made an appointment a day before we had actually gone in and they sounded really nice on the phone. If someone would have told me what it was really like in there I wouldn't have wasted my time. We got there and the girl led us into a room and didn't even tell us what her name was and basically just stood there while we looked around. She knew absolutely nothing about anything we asked her and was no help at all! All she did was lead us into a dressing room and said she was going to go get some pins and when we went looking for her she was nowhere to be found. We finally just walked out and nobody even noticed us. The crappiest service EVER!!! On top of that, they didn't have any of the dresses that are on the website that I liked. I went there to pick up my bridesmaid dress, before I could even see it, I had to write the check. Then it was brought out and I wasn't even offered to try it on to make sure everything fit correctly. So, I asked if I could please try it on. When I did it was way to small. There was no way I could wear it. When I asked what was I supposed to do, all they said is well obviously you have gained weight. They measured me as a size 25, which I was maybe back when I was thirteen years old. But, I'm nowhere close to a 25. Someone dosen't know what they are doing. So, I called Amanda the owner, she is very unprofessional and rude. She spoke to me saying ""Like I said, you have obviously gained weight."" Then said I had signed a contract which is not true, I only signed a reciept. Hello, I recently ordered my wedding dress at The Bridesmaids Store. The same dress was $200 cheaper here than the other wedding boutiques that carried it in Austin. The ladies who work their were friendly and let me try on dresses even though I had not made an appt. They were friendly, helpful and much cheaper than the other stores I had looked at. I visited the Bridesmaid store looking for some bridesmaid dresses I had found on the interent. I was in so many words told by the owner that I was only going to try them on and that she wanted nothing to do with me! I emailed her that afternoon an explained that I felt the service I recieved was horrible- she emailed me back calling me a lair and told me wanted nothing to do with me! Truth is I really wanted her to help me find my bridesmaid dresses- If you want to be treated with repect I would not suggest shopping here. The owner is rude and jangemental. The owner lost over $1000 of my bridesmaids money- being as though the dresses I wanted to order were $200. By simple airing a complaint I was told not to came back into her store.
