I started out extremely satisfied with Bridal Exclusives. I went there to try on dresses and was pleasantly surprised. They had a great selection of dresses in extended sizes. The sales woman was helpful and friendly. She made suggestions on dresses based on things I said I liked and disliked about others. I eventually found my wedding dress and happily placed an order. I was told that I could custom order a specific length from the designer that would save me the cost of hemming the dress later. I was also told that because the dress was a corset style, it could be tightened to fit through the bust and waist and would not require alterations. I couldn't believe my luck. Most wedding dresses require a lot of alterations.
2 months later, my dress came in and it was the wrong size. They made an error in ordering. Since I had ordered my dress early enough, the reordered the dress in the correct size.
3 months later, the correct dress arrives. This time the dress is too long and too big through the bust. All things I was told would not be an issue, especially since I paid extra to order a custom length. They brought out the seamstress who recommended $300 worth of alterations, plus another $350 in special shoes and slips.
They also tried to push expensive veils on me despite me telling them repeatedly that I would not be wearing one.
I decided to shop around for a seamstress and found one who figured out that I didn't need all those alterations because the sales person had put the dress on me incorrectly. All I needed was a bustle and a slip rental totalling $75.
I also had another issue with the sales staff that same day. I had been shopping for bridesmaids dresses and had found the style I liked for less at another store. I still felt loyal to Bridal Exclusives and asked if they would price match. I was given a lecture that escalated to being yelled at because of my request.
