EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED 2/18/2012

Everyone reads reviews so they know where to stay away from. We were looking for a certain designer and there were only a few bridal shops without going 200 miles out that carried his line and the Bridgal Boutique had the best reviews of local boutiques. Our intial exerience was wonderful everything a bride to be would dream it to be. Out assistant, Carol, was the best. She treated us like we were her first customer of the day and we asked her input and she responded honestly. The measurements were taked to exact body size and within 4 months my daughters dress had arrived. My daughter was coming from out of town and works Monday-Friday so a Saturday final fitting would work best. When I called to make the appointment on a Saturday, I was advised that final fittings were only honored Monday thru Friday and that Saturdays were reserved for new brides trying on dresses only. My initial thought was ""Really"", but I was told that I could pick up my daughters dress and carry it out"" Oh, ok, I feel much better now! I called my daughter and she handled it from there. She was told we would be put in a closet upstairs. My daughter said she didn't care at all where just so she could come on a Saturday. The girl told her to be there at 9:30. We were there and we had the entire staff at our disposal. We had a big room downstairs and my daughter was treated like a bride-to-be should experience. We were out before 10:00 a.m. opening time. All the new brides looking for dresses charged in at 10:00. I understood why they would tell us no Saturdays, but follow through on any business transaction is part of the whole exchange. You give me complete service that is accommodating and I pay your for it. I am very thankful they made accommodations for Ashlei. That moment to see my daughter so happy will be forever etched in my mind. The Briday Boutique does not do alternations and they recommend a place down the street. They are wonderful. Please make an appointment however. Always expect the unexpected 9 times out of 10 the situation will work out and everyone will be happy. We were told that the boutique would try to obtain a sketch of the dress from the designer along with the purchase. That has not come to pass yet, but I am going shopping there for my dress. I do feel confident that they will provide me and anyone else for that matter the reasonable service that we desire!!! To the Brides of the future - Congratulations!!!!! more

Taking full advantage of Brides daily 3/31/2011

For starters, I was told to give Bridal Boutique my measurements, in which their response was "well that puts you somewhere between a size 4 & 10" Not very helpful. Then for $300.00 I received a crumpled up piece of taffeta, that swallowed me. We put our orders in at the end of November, but did not receive the dresses until two weeks before the wedding. To pay that much and get that little respect, I think displays this companies arrogance. I will never use them, and as an events coordinator will strongly encourage any bride I work with to stay far away for this place. more

Don't waste your time!! 3/13/2011

First let me start by saying that since I was coming from out of town to shop for a wedding gown I made sure to schedule an appointment. When I arrived I was disappointed to see that the store looked pretty run down and junky and there were no dresses on display. Although they seemed to have many dresses to choose from they were so tightly packed on the racks that it was exhausting trying to look through them to find some to try on. If they were ""organized"" in any type of way (by designer?) you never would have known because it looked like dresses were shoved into any available 1/2"" of space. I was assigned a ""consultant"" which is a joke because she could have cared less about helping me or assisting with pulling dresses for me to try. After asking me what kind of dress I was looking for she suggested I look around and let her know when I was ready to try them on. I managed to find three to try and when they didn't work I mistakenly asked the ""consultant"" if she had any ideas of dresses I might be interested in (thinking she would know the inventory and be able to locate dresses in the style I described). She replied that I should just look myself because I would know what I liked better than she. I guess she didn't want to fight with the overstuffed racks either! In any case I left the store after only 15 minutes and no one seemed to notice or care. Definitely not worth the drive from Lafayette - don't waste your time. more

Great Service and Dresses 2/7/2011

I found my dress at Bridal Boutique, and I absolutely love it. I went there not having a specific style in mind, and they were so helpful and willing to be patient and help me find the style I liked best. I worked with Brittney, who was wonderful and so sweet. She was very kind and really wanted me to find ?my dress.? I found a couple of dresses that I was debating between and finally decided on ?the dress.? Brittney measured me for it, and when the dress arrived it literally fit me like a glove; it was the perfect size, length, everything. I still have a few months before the wedding, but I cannot wait to wear it and walk down that aisle. Bridal Boutique definitely helped me with my wedding and I am very glad that I went there. more

Waste of time/ Does not even deserve 1 star 1/27/2011

This was my first time trying on wedding dress'. The Bridal Boutique had a trunk shoe so we made an appointment to attend. We were told that we had to have an appointment in order to get in. My mom and I arrived on time with 2 of my other friends. I have been to the Bridal Boutique before to look at dress' for other events but never my own wedding. The dress' I have purchased in the past,recieved we recieved a really good price on due to the fact that all the dress' crammed in the u upstairs room are damaged. When waited for 30 minutes for someone to acknowledge us. Nobody ever asked us. I had to go ask the ladies if we could have some help. There were also people coming in after us recieving help and we also found out that they did not make appointments. The first girl that started helping us was so rude. She helped us for maybe 10 minutes then ran off. The second associate that helped was a little better. We had a few dress' put aside to try on so now we jut had to wait on a room. Af more

Go anywhere but here 1/3/2011

When I went to Bridal Boutique to purchase my wedding dress I received okay service. However, when I returned to pick up my dress the service I received was terrible. They were just going to send me home wit the dress until I asked may I try it on. The lady working sighed and said I guess. She stuck me in a room, hung the dress up, and walked out. She never asked if I needed help getting into it. Good thing i had my sister with me to help. I feel like once they had my money they could have cared less about me and my experience. I would NEVER go there again. more

Best Service Around! 10/20/2010

I would agree with Leslie B. Bridal Boutique is one of a kind in Baton Rouge. I also had Brittany over there. She was very professional and kind and helpful. We tried on multiple dresses with her, where she was patient and stayed in our budget. She allowed us to pull dresses ourselves and was set on making sure the dresses were to my liking. We left there to go to other stores, thinking that we had already found "the one". The other stores were not nearly what BB was! Service was horrible, non-attentive employees, didn't have styles I wanted, etc. Ended up going back to BB, just popping in, and even the other sales girls were great! We spoke to Marie (the owner) at an expo and she, herself, exuded the upmost respect and professionalism that she teaches her salesgirls. Brittany is even helping me find the perfect bridesmaid dresses to fit our budget & style. Highly highly recommended!!!!!!! LOVE THEM! more

Had a GREAT experience at Bridal Boutique 9/21/2010

I can't say anything about any of the other sales people since I did not deal with them, but Brittany from Bridal Boutique was amazing. I made an appointment with them during the week and from the moment I arrived they took good care of me. To be honest I was a little nervous when Brittany said she would be taking care of me (she looked younger than me and I was worried about what kind of experience she had) but she was soooo helpful and answered every question and concern that I had. She was very patient with me and helped me try on about 20 bridal gowns. She did not try to pressure me into buying anything and actually suggested that I go home and think about the dress that I wanted overnight. I ended up making a decision there in the store and she then helped me find my beautiful veil and pick out my bridemaid dresses, again with NO pressure and she didn't try to get me to pick out the most expensive dresses I could find. Overall: not pleased 9/20/2010

The bad reviews you may read are warranted. After calling in my measurements for a bridesmaid dress, I was told I would take a much larger size than expected. I realize that these type of dresses run small but this was not my first wedding to stand in. After expressing concern that this was too large a size, I was assured that it would be ok "you can always take in" they say. I receive my dress, put it on, and behold it falls off. I take it to a seamstress who says it will have to be cut and totally re-done. This was not an easy take it. Another 100$, no way! This dress already cost over $200. After calling and talking to a sales person, they said there is nothing they could do. What? I didn't want this large size, I was coerced into it! My mom then called and spoke with the manager, who asked for us to come in so they could see it. Does anyone else find it ridiculous that my mom had to call in order for any action to be taken? The only recommendation I can give anyone about Bridal Boutique is to stay away from these horrible, catty, rude, obnoxious, aging socialite wanna be's as possible. I cannot express this firmly enough. The saddest part about the behaviour of these women is that they are hiring and teaching a whole new generation of Baton Rouge young women to be as pathetic and catty as they are. The experience of dealing with them was truly unbelievable. Had it not been for the sake of my friend's wedding, I would have burned the dress they provided me with in their parking lot. First, they had to have completely taken my measurements incorrectly. Then they insisted that I needed to order a dress 6 sizes larger than the department store size I wear. Which I am certain was to get the extra $50 for a "plus" size. When the dress came in, it was so big that it required 12 inches to be taken in at the waist, another 8 in the shoulder straps, and 6 more in the bust line. Unattentive and rude 5/26/2010

I wound not recommend this store for anyone. They were very nice in the beginning but once they realized I wouldn't be purchasing a dress that day their whole demeanor got rude and almost as if they could care less. The girl who greeted us never even got off the chair by the computer to talk with us. Their were also 3 other workers standing around and we were the only people in the store. I ended up trying on 3 dresses and the first dress is the one priced at 1800 ..... My mother and I both decided there was no way we would give them our business and decided to find the dress by a popular designer somewhere else, which we did. They are definetly in it for the money and have no meaning of customer service. I can see how people would have positive things to say bc had the girl gotten the impression that we were buying that day she would have probably shown more curtosy to us. When you work in a customer service industry the customer should always be attended to with importance NO MATTER more

Brittany is the Best! 5/21/2010

I read previous reviews of Bridal Boutique and was apprehensive about calling to make an appointment being that many of the reviews were negative. I also had read reviews that the boutique has a large inventory of gowns that could be purchased off the rack and being that my wedding was three weeks away, I decided to give them a chance. When I first called to set an appointment and ask about their hours, they were friendly and accommodating. The day of the appointment, which was a Saturday, I was running late and called to change the appointment time (I had to drive from an hour away) and they were very courteous and gave me an appointment one hour later than my previous appointment. When I arrived, I was greeted by Brittany who began asking questions as to my likes and disllikes, where and when I was getting married, etc. I explained my situation and she immediately began pulling dresses and sent me into another room to do the same. Not Worth The Trouble 4/20/2010

My first experiences with this shop were at two bridal shows. At the first bridal show, the owner hosted a fashion show and served as the announcer. Without a close encounter, she came off as pushy and a little "wedding crazed". \r \r My second experience was with a much larger show. When she overheard me in passing mention to my aunt that I liked something on a dress she had on display, she completely turned on her vulcure act. She came from behind her booth with a pen and paper trying to get me to committ to an appointment right then and there. When I declined her offer, she asked, "why not? You said you liked this dress!" If she had been listening to our conversation just a little closer, she would have heard when I said I loved the top of the dress but I hated the pickups on the skirt. awful experience 2/11/2010

Although bridal boutique had a wide selection of bridal gowns the staff was so rude and not helpful I decided to take my business else where. I went to look at bridesmaid dresses and the lady had no knowledge of the gowns, colors they were available in, or how long it would take to get them in. Overall awful experience and rude staff. Although I had an appointment it seemed like everyone was too busy to help and they were very rude when they were actually there to answer a question. more

We love Bridal Boutique...I bought my wedding dress there 26 years ago and my daughter is now planning on doing the same. We have never had any of the issues mentioned in some of the other reviews - we have always been greeted and not just by one salesperson, they have always been very gracious and willing to help. more

WORTH THE TRIP 5/4/2009

My daughters and i drove to Bridal Boutique in Baton Rouge la from St.Martinville la and was very impressed. Unlike anywhere in New Iberia or lafayette they had a very large selection of plus size bridal gowns in the store. We found a very beautiful gown and she sold it to us at a very good price. The sales representative Ms. Rosie was very knowledgeable about the gowns and therefore was very helpful to us. Thanks Bridal Boutique i will definitely spread the word about your store. more

Great selection of unique and beautiful dresses 9/18/2008

Upon entering Bridal Boutique, my mother and I were immediately greeted. We were encouraged to look around to see what style we liked, then the associate assisted us in gathering dresses which suited my taste. I tried on MANY dresses, and, although each one was very unique, they were all beautiful. I found the dress for my wedding there, and the order arrived earlier than the estimated date. The dress was in perfect condition, and I even returned there to inquire about shoes and a purse. It's a great place to shop if you don't want to look ""just like all the other brides."" Bridal Boutique shopping 7/22/2008

My daughter and I shopped at The Bridal Boutique and despite the negative reviews we have read, we had a very positive experience. She and I are both out-of -towners but were treated very nicely. Our consultant, Katherine, was delightful. She spent 3 hours with us even though I had told her my daughter was just beginning to look for her dress. We were not pressured in any way.There were several energetic consultants working on a busy Saturday morning, but Katherine was wonderful for us. She is knowledgable and interesting---a real charmer. Thanks to her we found a beautiful gown and will be returning to Baton Rouge to pick it up! more

don't listen to the bad reviews! 6/4/2008

I do not understand the bad reviews either. I've had nothing but great help every time i've gone in this store. I went when i first got engaged to look at bridesmaid dresses & the sales girl i had was so sweet & very very helpful (even though my mom & i were probably a bit annoying!). Then i went back there this Saturday with my bridesmaids to have them all measured. This time we had a different sales girl who was equally as kind & helpful as the first time we went. The bridesmaid dress was $235 & b/c one bridesmaid was worried about the price, she offered to bring it down to $210, which she did not have to do! The owner was there as well, along with other sales people & all of them were VERY kind. I do not understand the bad reviews at all! \r I will do another review around the time i get married! But so far...they are WONDERFUL! more
