Bread Company

I've called the restaurant and asked if I can a reserve table for two. The guy started laughing and hanged up. The number of customers is low and declining. I like the location, I sincerely hope someone more professional and please will take over soon. more

I can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The mixed field greens salad is especially delicious with apples and a raspberry vinaigrette. But so are the pizzas, fondue, sandwiches, and everything else. Great service and atmosphere at only a little above campus prices. more

Anything I've ordered off them menu has been delicious, so I'm more adventurous than I am at other places. Great atmosphere, very friendly waitstaff, good for both casual dining and special occasions. The fondue is wonderful, as is the mixed field greens salad with raspberry vinaigrette pears nuts and blue cheese--but as I said I like everything there. They don't put anything on the menu just to put it there--it's all well thought out and developed. The pizzas take a while to come because they are made to order, but it's still less than 20 minutes. Great place for both young and old, students and faculty. Bring your parents or that date you want to impress or just go yourself. Very informal at lunch with a limited menu: sandwiches, salads, cookies, bread. Also one of the best bakeries... mmm, baguettes. mmm zupfe! more

My friends and I decided to have a nice dinner at the Bread Company. It was my first visit and they all said good things about it so the five of us decided to go. Ill skip over the waiting to be seated part because its not as important as how they treated us. My friend found a hair her pizza that was cooked into the dough.. so obviously it was not her hair but whoever cooked the pizza.We told our waitress thinking that a manager would come up and talk to us but that wasn't the case. After dinner she brought up our check that was wrong because they charged us too much for a pitcher of Sangria. When asked about the hair she told us the direct quote from the manager which was " it happens, so..." That is unacceptable that if hair is found in food it just happens.. no that is unsanitary. When we approached the manager he just gave us a blind stare and said well what would you like me to do ..its hair it was in your pizza soo.... No other restaurant would treat customers this way after something is wrong with their food. I mean we are paying good money for good food and to be treated like crap and not even approach about hair that they messed up on is unacceptable for any restaurant. Needless to say the service and management is horrible. I do not recommend this place at all. Who knows what they put in the food for their customers to eat. more

The Bread Company located on campus at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is the best place for gourmet food. I would say this is the perfect place for a first date as it has a very romantic ambience and setting to it. They offer great tasting foods all cooked mostly by students who live on campus. Their fondue is simply delicious and this place is probably the only place where you can get fondue in central Illinois. more

chocolate fondue is the best in town. bread company made funny fondue plate which is made by wine corks. Hot sandwich is good for lunch. bread company have various wine collection which we can choose. House wine is cheap and affordable. every table have a candle which makes cozy and warm environment to have meal. most of the foods cost under 15 dollar. lunch is around 5~8 dollar. there are many people here always. I strongly recommend everybody enjoy this cozy environment and high quality food. more

One of the favoriates by UIUC students. It locates in Urbana the campus town so easy to get there. It makes very nice sandwish and have beautiful tea pad made by corks. Price is good and automosphere is lively. Not only students like there, professors and visiting scholars often show up there as well. more
