My wife and I went here for our first anniversary and it was very nice, very classy. the price is a little spendy but they bring you around 15 courses of different meats that all ...

Good service but bad quality meat. It was not moist or juicy. Like I said I would rather pay a little more money and go to PCG or another steakhouse if I'm in the mood for meat.

best meal ever! 10/28/2011

My wife and I went here for our first anniversary and it was very nice, very classy. the price is a little spendy but they bring you around 15 courses of different meats that all taste equally amazing. I'd definitely go back. more

Salty Meats & Okay Service 3/24/2011

This was my first time having dinner at the Brazil Grill and overall it was an okay experience. First we were escorted to our table by a rude jerkface of a lady (I heard she was the owner). She was rude to us like we came in as transients asking for free food. The hostess was super nice and so was a male server. The female servers all had carving swords up their asses. No expressions or no interactions with us common folks. The meat definitely was super salty. I washed down about four glasses of water - having a big sip after each bite (I have had two more since I've been home). The best courses were the tri-tip, beef filet wrapped in fatty bacon (minus the bacon), lamb, and the shrimp. Everything else was too salty. However the meats were all moist (not as dry as everyone else commented earlier). But I will say their cinnamon sugar pineapple was definitely delicious. Their salad bar was pretty good, not to bad and most paired well with the meats. I will now be full for the next three days, I will thank Brazil Grill for that! more

Complete Letdown! rotten servise, dry meats, what happened? 3/15/2011

ive been to the brazil grill 5 times.I called and asked if i needed reservations for a party of 8, on a monday. they said yes, that was the a lie, the place was only 1/2 full. salad bar was decent, good start, then all downhill. First, I noticed that 1 lady was serving about 7 tables. other times i went, there were many servers. i took forever to get any meat, she brings sausage, twicw in a row to start. that means for the firat half hour, we only got sausage, then chicken legs, which was overcooked and dry,so i wait, and chat with friends for my favorites, tri tip, which was completly over well done, dry, i mean really DRY!, then i wait for my favorite mustard flaavored, same thing , dry, no flavor, ive been there 45 minutes, the lamb was great, full of flavor juicy, im thinkin, mabey it will turn around, nope, next was the bacon wrapped filet minon. the bacon was tasty, ,the meat inside was dry, The other times i was there, the staff was great, the meat, was to die for, but this time i see that all the staff was gone, the meat sucked, i think they are cutting corners, i was so disapointed, i will never go back again,8 peaple, 340 $ what happened to that place? more

Would rather pay a few extra $ for good food! 2/15/2011

Great 9/1/2010

4 adults, 3 kids, great time, great food, great service except only one runner for most of our stay left us waiting for more meat. Otherwise, great experience, I've already recommended this to another couple. I'm searching here in Houston to see if we have as good an experience in a Brazilian Grill available as we had last night in Portland. more

Best value for the money 7/19/2010

My husband and I went to Brasil Grill the other night and had an wonderful time. The drinks were so good. We had something called a capriana and it was delicious. We were served 10 or 12 meats on a big sword that were all very good. We had a stop light on our table to get meat delived to us or to wait. The server was very nice and explained what was going to happen because we had not been there before. There was also a salad bar that had many different kinds of salads that we had not heard of. Pros: capriana drinks, service, food more

Salty, Salty and just Salty 5/28/2010

This was my 3rd time - I've been here about once a year - and let me tell you, this place has steadily and consistently going down hill. The service, luckily for them, has stayed decent - not the best, mind you, but they don't give you the evil eye if you eat too much or linger too long. The food, however, was just so bad that my group of friends I went with decided they've earned 3 strikes so we won't be going back here - why waste your hard earned money here when there are so many better restaurants around? First of all, we were there good 2+ hrs and there were only 4-5 different dishes - salty lamb, salty chicken leg, salty piece of chicken meat wrapped in soggy bacon, salty sirloin and salty some beef wrapped in (yup, you guessed it) soggy bacon. Have I mentioned they were all very incredibly, ridiculously SALTY? Only thing not salty was the pineapple. My group ate pineapples and endless glasses of water with each bite. Shudder~ Pros: service was decent Cons: only 5 different choices and they were all SALTY more

Too much bad meat that would not stop. 1/14/2010

So on paper this place sounded great, grilled meat over open fire and lots of it brought to your table. Upon getting the first meat sample I knew something was wrong, dry and tasted like grade D garbage. It was a non busy night so I thought maybe that was the issue, but after reading other reviews I think its just the place. I would advise against anyone going there ever. Pros: They bring you lots of it Cons: Meat was dry, meat was low quality, Decor was horrible more

As good as any churrascaria in Brazil 11/19/2009

I had just come back from Rio de Janero when I first ate at Brazil Grill. I must tell you that it is as good or even better that the ones I ate at in Brazil. Pros: Food, atmosphere, service. Cons: A small stomach more

What happened to this place? 10/27/2009

I first visited this place in January?08 and loved it. The meats were delicious, the service impeccable, the ambiance inviting. Two weeks ago, I had one of the worst dining experiences ever, for the following reasons: 1. The meats were tasteless! Their bacon-wrapped items had just the taste of bacon to it. What a disappointment! I then tried their Mustard Beef Sirloin twice, and the first time I had to salt it to give it even the slightest resemblance of flavor; the second time I couldn't cut through it with my knife, as it was severely undercooked (not to be confused with ""rare""). 2. They only had one guy bringing meats, so we felt very hurried; also, he was curt and impolite. Another thing: he would stop by the table next to us with just 1-2 pieces left on a skewer, give all of that to that table, and never come back to serve us the same selection. I don't think I had to tip him to favor our table over our neighbors, did I?.. 3. Our server opened a bottle of wine for us, and then disappeared forever to serve other tables. I'm not a high-maintenance person, but I don't like it when I have to pour wine for myself and my guest in a restaurant of such caliber. 4. They did not have their full menu of meats as they advertise on the website and on the menu. I suspect that some of the items might be seasonal, but I'd like to be informed of what they're out of right away. Cons: Bad food, bad service more

Great Place 9/19/2009

The salad bar was very interesting, loved it. The staff were very pleasant and was always at your table with thier swords. The food was delicious and of course it was alot and we were overstuffed. Enjoyed our dinner and they actually joked around with us which made it a very relaxed atmosphere. We had a very nice time and we would go back again and of course the elder gentleman who came around and made sure everything was alright made it seem more enjoyable. This was our first time there and would recommend it. Pros: Good food and Good Company more

What a great place! 9/6/2009

I went to a similar place in Rio de Janeiro and must say that you can have the same or better quality right here in Portland. Pros: Churrasco at its best Cons: Having a small stomach more

Great Brazilian barbecue 8/28/2009

Hello all! I like to write reviews and tell people what I think about a restaurant, bars, movies and other things. So here I am again and at this time I am going to talk about the Brazil Grill Restaurant. Pros: Great service and food. Cons: Parking spaces more

Great Service, Not So Great Food 8/26/2009

We went out to celebrate a friends service in the Military and the one organizing the party chose this place. When we first got there we were very happily greeted and shown to our table by whom I believe were the owners. Since it was a surprise party of sorts, we had to sit at the table for a little while before the guest of honor got there doing nothing and they did not have a problem with this. You start the meal off with the salad bar, which really is a caesar salad or plain lettuce with nothing else to add on it (aside from dressing of course). They also have an assortment of Brazilian salads which were interesting to try (chicken salad, rice salad, fruit salad for example). I read on their website that it was also supposed to have soups, but they did not. Then the meat service started and the server came around with the meats skewered on swords, as advertised. Honestly, the meat was dry, flavorless and I don't know if they know what a spice or marinade is back in the kitchen. Maybe they don't use them in the true Brazilian style, but then make sure the meat is juicy so you can at least get it down. They have a couple bacon wrapped meats (chicken and filet mignon) which, because the meat is so bland, end up being completely overpowered by the flavor of the undercooked bacon. I ended up giving a majority of my meats to my boyfriend (him also not enjoying it, but eating it to at least get our money's worth) only really liking the prawns which by the time they got to that stage I was too full to even enjoy (it takes a very long time to get through all the meats and they come almost dead last in the rotation). Oh, and the grilled pineapple they rave about? Maybe if you like hot pineapple soaked in sugar.. All in all I was very disappointed. When you pay $32 per person for just the meal you expect to at least enjoy it. If it wasn't for the great service I would have given this place a single star. Pros: Friendly waitstaff Cons: Dry, bland meats, lack of vegetables/side dishes more

Fantastic Food! 8/6/2009

Great food, fantastic service, delicious drinks! This is a great place to go with friends and family. Be hungry! The food just keeps coming..... my favorite by far is the grilled pineapple... its christmas in your mouth. more

Great Food 8/3/2009

Went with some friends, we had a great time! The wine list is great and the food was amazing! Pros: So much to choose from! Cons: Felt like thanksgiving day more

Great Anniversary Dinner 8/2/2009

My wife and I ate at Brazil Grill yesterday and in a word, divine. The food was an array of different meats that were juicy and flavorful. I'll be darned if I can remember the names of all the meats. My server was informative with the wine list and we loved the wine suggested to us. Pros: unique dining, good food and service Cons: Google map took me to wrong address more

PLEASE turn up the AC!!! over 80 degrees in the restaurant! 7/25/2009

The first thing they should do is automatically bring out a basket of bread... our waiter said they would come around with side dishes, but after 10-15 minutes of just meat we had to ask our waiter again... and then finally five minutes later we got one roll of bread for each of us, another ten minutes later we got one plate of some fried polenta and that was it for side dishes. The biggest disappointment was that it was BOILING hot in the restaurant. Yes, today was a 91 degree day, but it was at least 80 degrees in the restaurant. For the prices they charge I would expect not to get sweat stains on my back and armpits. It was so stifling hot that we stopped eating early just to be able to get out of there. If the little hole-in-the-wall Nicolas Lebanese restaurant is able to afford to keep their restaurant cool in this hot weather, and only charge $10-15 for a meal, I would expect Brazil Grill to be able to keep their customers in comfort as well. Needless to say we will not be going back, not at those prices and mediocre service. Pros: Good mustard sirloin, our waiter was nice. Cons: not enough side dishes, WAY too hot in the restaurant. more

Wonderful experience 7/10/2009

This is a restaurant that people come around and serve meats at your table on swords. I liked it a lot. I enjoyed the pineapple very much. The servers were great and for the price (32.00 per person) I thought we got a lot of food. Pros: best pineapple in town Cons: weird neighborhood more

wouldnt go back 6/29/2009

We went this weekend for our wedding anniversary. we had been told by friends of this place and I checked citysearch and it looked ok, so off we went for our big night out since it is 32.00 a person ! Pros: grilled pineapple that i can make at home Cons: staff and variety more
