Editorial review from Citysearch 1/22/2013

Dr. Finkes, Dr. Shivers, and the staff at Brawley Animal Hospital in Mooresville are fantastic. The staff is always friendly, and the doctors (we usually see Dr Finkes) seem to enjoy their job, and love our pets. We always feel like we're getting the best advice, and best treatment for our furry family. I highly recommend Brawley Animal Hospital. I'm a very over-protective pet momma, so this recommendation means a lot! more

unprofessional 4/7/2010

I did not like the unprofessional doctors at this hospital. Both women were rude, and did not really engage us as when we took our dog to the vet. They were talking as if we were not even in the room. They spoke about their weekend, and boys, and drinking, etc more

Quality Care 9/4/2009

Just got my cat back from a 4 day stay at Brawley and the care was outstanding. Dr. Finkes called me twice a day to give me updates, and the entire staff was knowledgable and supportive when I went in to visit. Overall, very positive and nurturing environment. We are new to the area and I will not be looking elsewhere. more

Compassionate Vet 2/26/2009

My husband and I moved to Mooresville in March. Our two dogs had been to the same vets their entire lives, but we decided to get a nearby vet and chose Brawley School Animal Hospital. Unfortunately, my older dog was diagnosed as having cancer in October. Dr. Marks and his staff have been wonderful and very compassionate in their treatment of our dog. As she was almost 13 when she was diagnosed and has a very large mass in her abdomen, he did not recommend, nor did we want, to put the dog through a lot of pain and trauma. We have been treating her with steroids and he has been draining a cyst on her neck periodically. She has actually lived beyond expectations (past her 13th birthday this month) and is comfortable and happy so far. The doctor always has time to explain things and his staff assisted me in making my pet insurance claim. I could not ask for better care for my animals and better service for myself.Libby DavisMooresville NC more

Great Vets, Great Boarding 10/3/2008

We have had nothing but good experiences with using Brawley Animal hospital both as vets and for boarding. They have always taken excellent care of our animals. more

The vet was scared of my cat 9/5/2008

I have got a 14lb cat that has all his claws and is the most loving cat in the world, when he is feeling comfortable. I moved here from Wisconsin so I had to change vets. On his previous vet visits he would nussle and love on the vet throughout the exam and acted like he didn't even feel the shots. At the Brawley animal hospital the first thing the vet did was draw back when she saw how large my cat is and ask if he had his claws. She looked terrified and Montey began to growl at her when she touched him. They tried to sell me an implanted locator tag which he already had but she didn't find until I told her it was there. Then she tried to sell me a tooth cleaning for over 200.00 and told me if I didn't do it his teeth would fall out . I paid my bill and will never go back. I have since gone to Mooresville animal Hospital on HWY 21 and they are wonderful. Maybe Brawley is better with dogs, but if you have a large cat with claws-beware! I have never been to a vet that actually preffered that the claws were removed. NOT CAT LOVERS!!! Pros: Beautiful building Cons: dogs and cats in same waiting area, Vet was scared of my cat, tech did majority of the exam more

Very nice and professional 3/28/2008

I use to take my dog to this vet when I lived up in Huntersville. Unfortunately, we've moved and I'm on the hunt for a new vet. They were always very nice and professional. Dr. Shivers was great! And my dog loved their office staff. more

My Pet Received Unauthorized Procedure While Being Boarded 8/23/2007

My husband and I recently boarded our dog here while we were on vacation. We had requested she receive a bath while there and this is the only service we requested for her. When my husband picked her up and we looked at the bill we saw where a complimentary anal gland expression had been done on her. Upon contacting the office I questioned if my dog was showing any symptoms that led them to believe there was a problem. The only answer I received was the anal glands were "full". There were no signs of infection or cause to believe there was a problem. Our dog is very timid and I'm sure this wasn't a very pleasant procedure for her to have to go through.\r \r When filling out the paperwork for Brawley for our dog it was included in the paperwork that no procedures would be done on our dog while she was in boarding until we were contacted by phone and our permission was given, which didn't happen in this case. more

Brawley Animal Hospital/ Dr. Kurt Marks 12/26/2006

My husband and I have been taking our pets to Brawley Animal Hospital/ Dr. Kurt Marks for care and boarding. We are extremely happy with them and think they are wonderful! They know our pets by name and treat them as if they are part of their family! The pricing is competitive, the hospital is very clean, the assistants are super and I recommend them to all of my friends! A+ more

Watch Out, You May Pay For Things You Didn't Ask For 2/8/2006

My husband and I recently boarded our dog at Brawley Animal Hospital while on vacation. When we went to pick him up, the vet wanted to talk to us about conditions he has had and been treated for for years. We had to wait about 40 minutes to see the vet (we didn't have a choice, they practically forced us to), then were given prescriptions for ailments our dog recieved as a result of being boarded (his eyes turn red every time we board him due to his allergies), and were billed for check-ups and prescriptions he recieved while in their care that we never asked for. The bill was about 3 times what they told us is normal for boarding. This vet seems to be in it for the money. more
