Bra Specialist

My mother and I have passed through Spring on our way to various places, and we finally decided to stop. It claims that there are variety from petite to 6x. My mother may not be a small woman, but that does not mean that she has to be treated the way she was. The female who seemed to be the ONLY woman who worked there, asked how she could help us. However, when my mother asked about finding a bra that supports her and doesn't poke her like most bra's tend to do sometimes -- she immediately sizes her. This is fine so far. Then I notice she goes into the back. I'm sitting here baffled. The back?! Why would they not have larger sizes in the front? All I saw were tiny skimpy lingerie and bathing suits. The bra alone was PLAIN and it barely covered her chest. It was a D. Nothing more than that. I slid up off of her and when my mother and I decided to take it off so the woman could bring us another, she asked what was wrong with the bra.. She gave us NO choice. She began buttoning my mother back up and bullied her into buying this good for nothing bra that was $60!! I could have bought 4 from elsewhere that were the same as this one for that price! We will never return again after this experience. They should have offered choices. They should have been more personal and the woman was not. They get a 0 on a scale of 1-10. more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! Never had I had such a horrible customer service experience! I don't even know where to begin. The very first person I spoke to was the sweetest lady and was able to help me find the style I was looking for, but it was Amanda, the store manager who really made my shopping experience horrible. The ""store manager"" was extremely rude because I pointed out that the bra they were trying to sell me had a stain on it. I had been trying to find the right bustier for my wedding dress and boudoir shoot for weeks before I decided to check this place out. I was able to find one that I really liked, but since they didn't have my size in the store, they had to order it. In order for them to order it, I had to pay for the entire thing up front, which I had no problem doing. The first time it came in, there was a small red stain on it. When I pointed this out to Amanda, she made it very clear that she was NOT happy at all to order me another one. Regardless of whatever price they sold it at, I still expected a CLEAN product. I had brought my dress in to try on with the dress that day, and when she was helping me in it, she made it seem as if it were wrong that I was petite. She was all smiles, but the tone in which she commented on my figure made me feel bad because I needed to gain weight to fill out my dress. The second time it came in, the damage is even worst than before; yellow crusted stain, snags in the fabric. As you can imagine, she was livid when, again, I pointed this out. Then, she has the audacity to say that since it was a white bra, I couldn't expect for it to come in without some imperfections. In my opinion, the first time was a mistake that could've happened to anyone, the second time has to mean there's something wrong with the bra manufacturer or them. I've never had a problem buying a white bra ANYWHERE else. When I mention this to her, she goes on this rant about how she couldn't see anything and my eyes must be ""really good"". She took it to the back saying she would ask if anyone else could see anything although there didn't seem to be anyone else in the store with us. When I asked to speak to the manager, she said she was the manager, then I asked to speak to the store manager, she, again, said she was the store manager. After I refused to take the bra, I demanded my money back since I hadn't even worn the bra or barely touched it for that matter. I was thinking of doing a boudoir shoot as a present for my fiance, but was no way I was going to do any kind of photo shoot in that bra. I even asked for the original bra that had been ordered because I was tired of dealing with her and just wanted to be done with it. But they had already sold it. So I gave her two options of either ordering another one or refunding my money because I did NOT want to buy a damaged item. After arguing with me and insulting me, she finally gives me back my money after basically telling me this was the last time I was ever allowed in the store again. When I checked my refund receipt, I noticed that they had marked up the price ridiculously! It even said it on my receipt! The original price of the bra was $59, and they had charged me $75! Afterwards, I was able to go through another company and get it for $40 because it was an older style. Needless to say, I still have not received the refund according to my bank statement. I'm giving them until the end of next week before I file an official complaint with the BBB. I understand that they have a wide variety of selection, but the customer service was hands down the worst I've ever experienced, and I work in the service industry! more

Never before have I been humiliated, felt unwelcome, and had my feelings hurt like I did at this store. I called in advance and spoke to a nice young lady who seemed like she could help me with my problem of finding the right size bra. Upon entering the store, I did not see a woman even sounding like her. Instead, I was met by a cold older woman who made me felt like I was intruding upon HER store. She insulted me several times. The insults were about my price range, about my size, about the current bra I was wearing, and she pretty much even told me that my breasts were smaller than the rest of the population! She wanted me to know that this store only caters to real women who have large breasts, unlike me. I will definitely not be back. Not only are they rude, but they are over priced. I'm sorry, $58-over $100 for a bra? Get real! more

I received a gift cerfificate for the Bra Specialists for Christmas 2009. Imagine my surprise when I went to the store location on 1960 only to discover that THE BRA SPECIALIST is no loner in business!!! And to make matters worse, the new owner WILL NOT honor the gift card!!!!!!!! Its not a large amount on the card, and I had planned to purchase at least 3 bras which would have still given them business/sales; but I was rudely told they will not honor the card and that's that. more

Me and my sister went in to purchase bras. We asked in walking in the store did they have available stock (my sister lives out of state and wanted to purchase 2 to 3 bras). We were told if we bought something the fee would be waived for being measured. Well, my sister and I were measured, and they didn't have her bra size. We both felt she shouldn't have been charged a fee when the bra she needed wasn't even in stock; that should have been told to her upfront. She bought out sizes too small and too large to try to get a sale. We were left in the back without any of our questions being answered....Horrible service! Will never go back! I went to this location to purchase a new bra one afternoon and was told to go to the dressing room and undress and wait. I did and they left me unattended for 10 minutes. When I walked out the dressing room to get more assistance no one was in sight. I could hear people talking in the back but no one was out in the store to help me. They forgot about me and left me half dressed! I called to complain and nothing ever happened. Don?t waste your time with these people. If i could give them no stars i would. more

This is my first message on citysearch. I felt the need to write a review because it is so difficult to find a bra. I am new to Houston and found this place through citysearch. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. I went in wanting two bras and left with four. I have never been able to find pretty bras and cleavage enhancing bras in my size (38DDD) until today. I plan on coming back around Christmas when the new shipment comes in!! Pros: Helpful Staff, Great Selections, Lots of Sizes Cons: Bras are expensive but not more than anywhere else, not the place to go if looking for bargin bras more

After a PLUS SIZE STORE nightmare in Conroe I took my daughter here to buy a very large sized bra. She was waited on by ANGIE and what a DOLL !! Her and another associate treated my daughter as if she were their MOST IMPORTANT CLIENT OF THE DAY !! How refreshing to have a store who respects their clients and treats them so wonderful no matter their size, appearance or problems ! Thanks girls...you both deserve a RAISE !!! Perfect for finding the right size, shape and color! However, I took my bra in because the underwire broke (not their fault) and have not yet got it back ,that was 12 days ago! I went to this store based on the Citysearch reviews. Admittedly it was New Year's Eve day, but the store was open and I expected some level of service. When I asked what styles they had in my size, the salesperson made it seem like it was an imposition to check their stock. I was brought 3 bras to try on, and no one ever checked to see how they fit and if there might be another size or style that might fit better. Not every woman who needs a large bra is a ""full figured"" woman. Too bad American retail stores don't recognize that. GREAT for The Bra Specialist!!! Formerly known as Sheer Fantasy, this Lingerie/Bra Store is a Godsend for those with hard to find sizes. Not only to they stock bras and lingerie, but swimwear as well. I have been shopping here for about 8 years and I love this place. They professionally fit you. They do custom alterations. I have done business with all of the locations in Houston and been very impressed with the attention to detail and high level of fitting knowledge. If you want to be fitted by professionals with a professional attitude then don't go anywhere else. I have been to the rest now I have found the BEST!!! more
