Great selection of books and dvds 5/3/2006

Whenever I want a cup of coffee and a nice book to relax and read, I try to get myself out here. This is located right in the heart of downtown, right accross the Water Tower Mall. They have huge windows and great views of the hustle and bustle of the city. There are plenty of seats so it's not hard to comeby a seat by the window. I like to sit and enjoy a hot cup of coffee from their cafe and a great book from their selection, while also taking in the crowd. The selection of books and dvds could not be better here. I have purchased many items here and have never had a problem with them. more

Great location and selection 5/3/2006

One of the best things about this store is the location. Right on Michigan Avenue, across from Water Tower Place. Overall this is a great store with a nice view from the cafe's window, the selection is outstanding. They host live events that can be exciting, depending on the performer or author. Almost makes you feel sorry for the mom & pop bookstore; it's tough to compete with Border's. more

Borders is a really great place to shop or browse for all your book type needs. This store especially is very well organized and the staff is very very friendly and helpful. They also have great areas to sit and read and you arent pressured to buy like most places. This is also a great place to grab a cup of coffee and jst relax for a while. more

Reading magazines while enjoy a cup of coffee 4/16/2006

I love this border, seems to be the best location with the best staffs. Usually I check their clearance on the basement, you can really find a great deal for children book specially. Or you can get some magazines, head up stair and get some coffee, at the end you are under no obligation to purchase any book or magazine from the store. more

Oh the options! 3/17/2006

The first time I was in this borders was when my friend gave me a gift card. But recently I have been in there a lot looking at there specials. They usually always have like buy one get one half off, or buy 3 for the price of 2 deals. I love reading while on the cta so this helps when I have new things to read. more

Magazines 3/12/2006

I like Borders because I like having a cup of coffee in their cafe while I peruse a magazine, or two, or ten. It's a great place to kill some time and get some free reading. The employees at Borders are also really helpful if you're looking for something specific. more

Books books books! This Borders is a great place to study, browse and just relax. The cafe has great food and drinks and they even have some great author speakers and music signings. Sign up for their email alerts and get great coupons (usually you can get 10-30% off your purchases). They also now have a borders reward card that if you use it, it save 5% of your purchase to use during the holiday season. A great way to save up for the holiday gift giving! more

All-time favorite Borders 1/4/2006

If I could stay in a bookstore the whole day, this would be the one! I love the service here--just on New Year's Eve, about 5 minutes before closing, I rushed in to get some books for the New Year...although a bit reluctant at first, an employee directed me to 2 books after telling me the others were not in stock. When I got to the second floor--another employee helped me search again to make sure. It is always in good order (even the children's section), everything is easy to find (if not, everyone is helpful), and even though the cashier lines seem long, they go by really quickly!! A+++ more

This Borders store is located in the heart of downtown Chicago and it is a huge store! Its three stories of great books and music. They are really well stocked with lots of different titles. And if you can't find what you are looking for, the customer sales reps are great at helping you locate it at another store or ordering it for you. This is a must stop bookstore! more
