This store is a mess. Anyone can fill a space with books. Buying is an art. Too bad this place looks like it is owned by lawyer types. But if you need 18 copies of a book that can be had for a penny on Amazon, this is the place.... more

A Treasure Hunt 12/1/2005

If you know what you are looking for, and you want to find it fast, this is not the store for you. However, if you like finding hitherto unknown gems hiding on a shelf, run, don't walk to Bookman/Bookwoman. The store is cluttered, and the shelves are a mess, because the store gets so many books in every day. If you take the time to peek through your favorite section, pulling out the books in back, thumbing through old, dusty tomes, you will be rewarded. The prices are average for a used bookstore, but there is no cost for browsing. If you enjoy hunting for new treasures, this is the place to go. more

Finally found it! 8/11/2005

I had looked everywhere for this one particular book. Most places had never even heard of it. I walked in expecting the same reaction. WRONG They had it and at a very reasonable price. I will definetly start my next book search here. more

great place for used books 8/10/2005

This bookstores is like a gold mine for old and rare books. It is a lot of fun just to go there even if you do not buy anything. They have lots of interesting books, and the books out in the sidewalk invite you to get in. The location is also great being on 21st it is very convenient. It is very nice to go there during a walk in the village. more

Used Book Store 8/1/2005

Book Man is a very cluttered store. You can barely walk through because the aisles are so narrow and the books are stacked in the bookcases from floor to ceiling. It is very difficult to find what you need, although the staff is helpful if you ask them to help you locate a book. And chances are, they do have what you are looking for since they have a fantastic selection. The place smells very musty like. . .old books. more
