Disappointed - closing my accounts. 11/25/2014

As a joint account holder I cannot pay bills from the joint account because I didn't open it. I was told I have to use the account I opened instead on the first transaction. The mobile banking offers no real service unless you want an account balance. You can only receive alerts via email. We've only had the accounts for few weeks. We are closing our accounts and switching to First Tech. more

Never Worked at Boeing, But Still Love BECU 1/20/2006

BECU is a great local bank especially if you prefer to bank online. We became members after they came back with the best rate for our auto loan. We have NO affiliation with anyone from Boeing. I guess if you live in Washington that is sufficient. We joined BECU to get the auto loan and then changed our everyday banking them. BECU's interest rates on savings are much better than your run-of-the-mill national bank. Online bill paying is free and you can do pretty much everything online--transfer funds, make additional loan payments, download information to MS Money (it is also free to automatically update Money or Quicken). I've even purchased Euros online and had them delivered to my house. The best part for me is that all transactions show up immediately online. I can use my debit at the grocery store and when I come home and log on, the transaction is already there. That way I don't have to save receipts and record them. It happens automatically, which makes it easier to know exactly how much is available in my account. The only downfall is that there aren't that many branches or ATMs. You'd want to make sure there is an ATM that is convenient for you. However, you can withdrawal money from any Credit Union ATM without fees (they have some sort of network). The other downfall is that you do have to buy your own checks. For us that was nothing. We bought one box and that will last us for ages since we do everything online. more
